Commander BrawlHello all. Quick question. Have the materials for FSD Increased Range 5 been changed? Last I knew it was Strange Wake Solutions x2, Chemical Manipulators x2, Polonium x2, and Magnetic Emitter Coil x1. INARA however has Arsenic x1, Chemical Manipulators x1, Datamined Wake Exceptionsx1, and Magnetic Emitter Coil x1. Am I missing something?


Frontier changed most of the recipes to make it less grindy

Just wondering if anyone in PTS know if the timer aspect of assassination missions have been removed or still there?

How come you can not edit any of the dates anymore in your profile? I made post commander back in May, just entered it now and it will not let me edit the date to May 2nd when I actually made post commander. You use to be able to change the dates after you made an entry.

I've been out in deep space getting exploration data and then thought, why not search some of the nearby nebulas for alien structures like barnacles? My question is, what are the possibilities of finding barnacles outside of the Barnard Loop area, like cave nebula or elephant trunk nebula? Are there a group of explorers like me, looking for barnacles in different nebulas? I would appreciate honest thoughts on this subject and if you are one of these types of explorers maybe we could chat in game, I play on xbox one. Take care, Commanders.

Well, it would require an incredible amount of effort to actually scout every landable planet in those nebulas even if you apply the criterias of known planets with barnacles to them.

Maybe you should ask the Canonn for more information on this one.

So i hear hatchbreakers will no longer be blocked by shields....

Tell me if im wrong here but, this to me is a real game changer. The combat trader that used to think, do i want to dismiss this pirate (via high waking) or allow him to donate to my cause(via killing-bounty) will change to...either high wake asap or lose your cargo while in the act of killing her. Its boost boost and asap high wake only it seems now.

Back to bounty hunting i guess, or assasination missions if and only if they remove that bloodty timer.

There goes any reason now to place mines on my trade ships vs AI. As you said its a case of submit and FSD.


On a differing subject though, what is there to do in a wing? Recently i've been caught up in trying to find an active wing to do something, until I realised that I had no idea what that something was. As it stands the game doesn't really have anything that warrants the requirement of a full wing. Or am I missing something in the game?

Currently I am content undermining in an undisclosed system and I know other people are off around the galaxy enjoying the particular pursuits that they enjoy. I really should stop undermining mind you and focus on generating good income instead.

ECMs will ward them off and are allegedly getting their own key binding so should not need to be in a fire group. So the change in hatch breaker behavior comes with a countermeasure that traders now need to factor into their load outs.

That sounds amazing. This actually makes hatch breakers useful. Prior to this, it was easier to just target the (NPC) type - 9's cargo hatch and get the cargo that way. The ECM thing sounds like it will balance it just fine for when we're doing trade runs.

since 1.6 I always run mines on my trade ships

As for wings I would say some assassination missions, base assaults and CZs are starting to require a wing to do them.

I have been pleasantly surprised at how effective mines are. I was running once, and mines saved my life. I saw my thrusters give out, and then see the Target Destroyed message. Whew...
