Elite roleplay: Off station

OFF STATION

Your ship, deep space, anything that is not happening inside the Citi Gateway or Ingaba...

General Roleplay Etiquette:

1. Control only the actions of your own character(s). (AKA: God Mode)
This doesn't matter how small the action is, even if it is as simple as scratching their nose or a direct reaction to something else that just happened. This applies to everything from casual conversation to full blown fight scenes. If you'd like someone to do something specific, PM that person, however keep in mind they are completely within their rights to say no. Especially if said action is inappropriate to their character and/or circumstance.

2. Don't brute force your way into another persons RP.
Approaching with a conversation starter is fine, or indeed some other small action. However charging in, guns blazing and disrupting the flow of another person/pair/groups conversation/arc is about as rude as doing so in real life. If something is going on that you'd like to participate in, be subtle about it. Put out a gentle hook for someone to take, but again, be aware that said hook may not be taken. If you fear it was simply unnoticed, PM the person or people it concerns. Or even leave a message in the OOC forums.

3. Good grammar and spelling is preferred.
We're not asking you to be perfect, but please at least demonstrate willingness. no1 iz gna tak u srsly usng txt spk. There's a wide variety of people here, many who speak English as a second, or even third language. There are even some with varying degrees of dyslexia and/or likely other issues that affect spelling/grammar. We accept them all here. However, people who aren't accepted, are those unwilling to accept polite correction. Remember that even a small thing like the placement of a comma, or the wrong use of there/their/they're can completely change the definition of an entire sentence.

4. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and politely.
If someone spots an issue with your writings, they may wish to help you improve that writing. They may do this through PM or even publicly air their thoughts on the OOC forum. If they have taken the time to be polite and explain what is wrong with your writing, the best way to behave is to respond in kind, using the same manner they have approached you with. It means they have taken an active interest in what you have written and wish to see more. Basically, you have a fan!

5. Don't take the actions or opinions of things done IN RP, to be directly relevant to the writers thoughts or opinions.
Basically, if some ones character calls your character a jackass, it doesn't mean the writer thinks you are a jackass. It's a ROLE they are PLAYING. Watch a movie. The argument between the characters isn't an argument between the actors involved. The same applies here.

6. It's not a popularity contest.
Your RP might be bustling with participants. You have 3 people off station in a fire fight, while another 2 are infiltrating the darkest areas of the station, meanwhile a group of 4 others are tracking your movements in an effort to stop you. Good for you, I'm sure it will be a thrilling read! But you know what? Sometimes the absolute BEST work, comes from two RP characters having a simple heart to heart. Both are valid, both are great, but NEITHER is categorically better than the other. Period.

Inara RP Etiquette:

1. Respect the setting and rules of the universe.
Inara is an Elite: Dangerous 3rd Party Tool. The RP Forums are set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Elite: Dangerous has rules, as any fictional universe does from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, or Game of Thrones to Star Trek. If you intend to RP within the Elite: Dangerous universe you are bound by the history and rules of that universe. Simply put, this RP forum is bound by the same rules as the game, so if it can't be done in the game, it is not permitted here. This applies to things from a 50Ly Jump Range on a normal, unmodified Sidewinder, to the destruction of entire stations.

2. Respect the characters created by others.
We have a wide variety of characters already here. It's expected that some will be similar, just as it's expected that two characters will be vastly different. Opinions of each persons character will naturally be varied, but all are valid provided they follow the rules of the universe. You are allowed to interact with, or avoid interaction with, any character in the RP forums. But you have no right to belittle others for their creation. You are not an authority figure on writing, nor are you directly affected by another persons imagination. You might not like it, but you MUST respect it.

3. Be caught up on current events before joining in.
You need basic things like character descriptions in order to interact with them. You also need to know what's going on in the surrounding areas. This is simply because the people you are hoping to RP with, might be gearing up to something that you might not want to be part of. Or simply that the most recent post, out of context, could leave a different impression on the goings on than if you gather that context. We don't expect you to read every single post from the beginning of the forums, just enough to get that basic understanding.

4. Either subscribe to, or frequently check, the Roleplay: Q&A and OOC forum.
People may be discussing something relevant to you there, or even discussing you directly. Perhaps someone asked what the general consensus on the existence or non-existence of a certain object. Or we're just chatting about random gibberish. Either way, be aware of it and use it. If you're unsure about something, such as how guns would look and or behave, or even the music selection, use the OOC forum to ask. We don't have all of the answers, but the collective knowledge and logic usually allows us to overcome an issue and come to a decision on what should be allowed. Frontier Developments, and even David Braben himself, don't have the answers to every possible question that can be asked.

5. Large Scale events exploding out of nowhere are a complete no go.
We get it. Everyone wants their character to be noticed and for people to be tripping over themselves to interact with them. In some audiences, an introduction involving you blasting in for landing in a fiery wreckage of a ship, before cart wheeling out and sword fighting 35 Ninjas before whisking off with the local celebrity for a glorious night of passion, is in fact, cool. This is not one of those audiences. It is generally considered better to build your character up slowly over time. Eventually, you might even have a legitimate excuse to fight those Ninjas. Maybe even with other RP participants by your side.

6. Perfect characters are boring.
The point of a character arc, is that it is in fact, an arc shape. One who is morally unquestionable, fully kitted out and an infinite fountain of knowledge, cannot go through an arc. Give your character flaws. Be it a tendency towards befriending the wrong people, or a bad knee that frequently gives out at inopportune moments. It gives readers something to latch onto and empathise with. You can give your character exceptional capabilities at something, but it requires balance. She's a damn good pilot with no equal, but can't drive an SRV for peanuts. It can lead to some very interesting moments between characters, be it heartfelt or comedic.

Other Notes:
It should be noted that there can be exceptions to these points. For example, good grammar when a character is speaking is actually rare. Few people in real life actually speak with perfect eloquence after all. Or previously arranged actions during a fight scene, such as someone stumbling back after a punch. What's key to remember is context.

All in all, remember this is purely for fun. We have some seriously talented writers here, and others whose writing history starts and ends at high school. But many are willing to help out in whatever way they can. All it takes is that you ask nicely.

Also keep in mind that many people who RP here, also have logbook stories related to the character, or characters, they portray. If it looks like there's an "in joke" going on that you're unsure of, it's probably in those.

In fact, some users have even gone to the trouble of creating "alts" to RP with. If you read back far enough, it's usually pretty clear who has and hasn't, and which ones are the "alts". It's therefore not unheard of to see the apparent seizing of control of other characters. If you do spot one, point it out in the OOC section. If intervention is needed, it will be sorted quickly and (hopefully) politely.

Most, if not all RP participants here have Logbook stories pertaining to their character(s). These are for the reading pleasure of anyone who wishes to do so. While it can be useful to read them in order to gain a bit of backstory on a character you wish to interact with, it should not be assumed that your character shares that knowledge. Within the E:D Universe, these Logbooks either don't exist, or are private diaries kept by the characters. Either way, without explicit statements to say otherwise from the writer, your interactions should reflect that your character is in the dark about any information you, the writer/reader, have gained from reading the stories.

Maul Montresor

It was strange to feel safe enough around Lamb that he could tell her anything, when realistically, she could kill him in a second if she desired, but Maul knew she didn't want that.

"I don't know. Life...and people...they're complicated for a reason, I suppose."

Some time later

The spread looked good; all the work was worthwhile and perhaps Kaisla wouldn’t be too hurt that Lambast had forgotten her Birthday. There was still the cake decorating to be done and that required some music.

“Holly, has Mr Montresor disembarked The Hand?” inquired Lambast already hearing her secret playlist in her mind.

“Err, I think so Ma’rm” said the computer uncertainly.

“What do you mean ‘I think so’ Holly? He is on board or he is not”

“Well, yeEEes, but I don’t know either way. Bumfluff ‘ad to disconnect me core from The Hand thanks to the way the Pilots Federation wants their fingers in every sensor I got. S’the only way he could disconnect the Transponder Systems ya see. Ergo, I donno”

“Very well Holly..” said Lamb gambling that enough time had passed for Maul to have done his work and left to find a replacement Transponder “..Please start my other-other playlist at high volume there’s’ a good chap”

“Nar, I’m not able to access the directories where ya hid those tunes currently, but I can tell ya the path to them so you can access and play them manually if ya like”

After following a trail down a line of fake files hidden alongside mundane and uninteresting folders, Lamb found her secret shame. Taking a moment to listen for the distant sound of another person aboard, Lambast decided it was safe to indulge.

The high melodious tones of a piano intruding the soft ramp-up to the time tested power ballad sounded from every speaker in the galley. Much like the classical music Lamb always played to keep up appearances, the power ballad had been perfected over a thousand years ago and hadn’t dropped the winning formula since. Be it strings, keys, or the vary occasional drum intro, Lamb knew the tune after just a few notes and was ready to sing along poorly but with all the gusto of the truly repressed.

--------------------------------------------------------

Cat watched the green-haired man leave the black Python with the nameplate Hand of Lambast from the docking control room.

“Typical fuckin toffy twat puttin dere own name on a fuckin boat. Rodders, follow dat lanky streak of piss and find out where ez off ta will ya?”

Rodney, or Rodders who could be accurately described as a lanky streak of piss nodded and synced his slate with the stations' security grid to keep track of Maul without having to follow him too close.

“Dat Sonders tart told us to expect an ‘acker and that looks like ‘im so don’t be a twat and use a fuckin slate to follow ‘im yeah? Use ya eyes’n’feet like a good boy or I’ll set about ‘ackin umm off me’self right?”

Rodney swallowed hard; Cat was in a bad mood today. It had started after that white-haired woman had brought the crates of bourbon. He’d have liked to have thought it was because she had grabbed Rodney by the face and embarrassed him in front of everyone, but it was something else. Well someone else called Kaisla.

Not long after the woman picked up the crate she was keeping, Cal had lumbered in and took Cat to the office outback for a chat. When Cat came out to the bar, his face was set hard and Cal had his guns set on his low on his thick lardy thighs and he had his hammer fanning pad on his hand. Something was going to go down but neither Cat or Cal had said what it was.

Being followed by Cat made Rodney feel like a woodland creature trying to lie still while a predator stalked him. He was very grateful when Cat turned off got the berth where the woman’s ship was docked. Cat approached The Hand at a quick broad-shouldered march, that was as stealthy as the man could be. He didn’t activate the lift, he just jumped up to the entry bulkhead and hung there to examine the security system.

The physical lock made Cat suck his teeth in annoyance. No one used them anymore so Cat didn’t have a way to bypass it quietly. He’d have to remember that and put a good old key and lock bolt on his stuff after all this. Cat pushed himself always from the door using its inset flush finish handle, as he did it turned. As soon as his feet hit the deck, Cat jumped back to the door and caught the handle again twisting it all the way.

“The plonker didn’ lock behind ‘im” Cat said to himself in surprise.

He didn’t know how many people would be on board but there was only about half-hour till Kaisla and all her friends had been told to be at the bar for a nice lil chit-chat and Cat didn’t mind escorting anyone that was dragging their feet to his establishment. Besides, that posh bitch had been eyeballing him hard at the bar and she deserved a lesson in manners. Cat found braking people’s heads always put him right when he was unhappy.

After wandering the concourse for a while, doing what he does best, Echo had started to notice a pattern. Shady characters were everywhere on this station, of course, but the shadiest among them had a cadence. They would appear with electronically sealed crates, coolers, and at one point even a backpack that was handcuffed to the wrist of a woman with a proper mohawk that was a shade of green that would cause Maul to grift credits from Lamb's tertiary bank account to retain a trademark lawyer.

An involuntary grin crept onto his face at the thought of that, before snapping back to the task at hand. These deliveries were like clockwork... in fact, Echo had _literally_ set a clock, of sorts, to them. Always a different goon. Always at the same time, and always taking their wares to the same shady club at the back of the strip.

Never knowing what he'd need from op to op, he liked to keep his 'espionage kit' fully stocked, and in this instance, he was glad he did. Digging around in his pouch he finally found what he needed. A small, stainless steel injection gun, and an unlabeled vial, which he attached to the back of it with a small hiss escaping from its seal being broken.

He stood, leaning against the outside corner of a cafe, looking at his timer.

3... 2... 1...

Right on schedule a skinny, tattooed tweaker with shoulder-length blonde hair appeared with a cooler, and he quickly stuck him with the injector and dropped it in his open bag, waiting a second as the tweaker stumbled and began to look disoriented.

"Hey, buddy, you ok? Let me help you out." Echo said, grabbing the cooler and setting it down before helping the tweaker to sit behind a crate tucked away next to the cafe, trying not to draw attention. The tweaker tried to thank him, but passed out before he could get a word out.

Echo picked up the cooler and walked off toward the Hand to enlist the help of the resident hacker.

Abyss slipped silently through the vacuum of space, the jet black ship nearly invisible against the black background of empty space, the only thing that gave away that a ship was there was Abyss's powerful engines which were alight with a vibrant blue glow, engines powerful enough to cause very slight changes in the space directly behind and around the ship, so even in the vacuum of space the ship could be "heard".

I stared out the window silently, watching distant stars flicker gently. I sighed softly as I looked over the navigation panel. Due to a miscalculation in the ship's computer system caused the Abyss to sit roughly 14,043,132 light-seconds away from LP 36-114's pulsar, about twice the distance from Alpha Centauri A to Proxima Centauri. In the distance the pulsar spun violently, it's bright blue poles illuminating the space in the distance, akin to that of an old world Lighthouse warning passing ships of shallow water.

I sigh gently, pushing the engine throttle forward, Abyss lurched forward, her powerful engines glowing more vibrantly than before. Slowly I stand from my chair, stretching my arms out as I take a few steps forwards towards the back of the cabin. I turned my head slightly to the side to take a glance at Kay-lee, who was most-likely asleep on the co-pilot's seat. I sigh again softly, then open the door to the private quarters. I glance around the dimly lit room for a moment. "Where the hell is he?" I ask myself, then I felt a small weight pressing against my leg. "There you are." I whisper, slowly bending down to pick up a rather large Siamese cat. "Where have you been hiding?" I ask the now content and purring feline, who in a simple response just slightly moved her tail. "What am I going to do with you Sam?" I ask again, which simply incited nothing more than a soft, discontent mewl. A smirk stretched slightly across my face as I pull Sam in close. "Alright, you can be on your way." I say softly, setting the cat down, who quickly retreated into the dark room. "Alright then."

After finishing with the cat, I turned my attention to the sleeping woman in the co-pilot's seat. I sigh, then take off my old woolen bomber jacket, the same jacket which I wore commonly station and planet-side. "I'm gonna want this back Kay-Lee. When you wake up." I say, then place the large bomber jacket over Kay-Lee. Afterwards, I walk away, and turn my attention to other duties, especially since It would take over several hours to be anywhere near the star.

Rex RaglanRex slowly opened his eyes and listened.

He noticed a piece of notepaper on the desk and picked it up.
It read:

"Raglan, gone to the docks to ready the ship. see you on board when you get your energy back D. xx"

He smiled, remembering that he wasn't the only one breathing heavily last night.

Arriving at the docks he visited the kiosk at the entrance and bought a couple of chocolate bars.

He found the ship in the hangar and made his way through the open entrance door and onto the bridge.

She was sitting in the command seat doing a systems check, and looked round at him as he entered.

"Chocolate?", he asked her with a grin... "I hear it's good for recovering lost energy"

"Cocolate, Perfect!" Said Descartes, slowly unwrapping it and taking a grining bite.

"I've loaded up with some consumer tech and marine equipment, can't see any major profits to be made here at Webb. Route to Citi Gate way is ready, with one stop on the way. I'll just call up for clearance."

She was aware of sound rather brusque and hurried. She turned to smile at him. Her Remlock suit felt rather tight and was zipped up halfway.

"I've found a nice little rocky planet to fly-by on the way. Ready?"
06 Feb 2021, 8:06am
"Just one thing to do before we go", he responded, reaching into his breast pocket and pulling out his sunglasses.

He put them on and let out a mock sigh.

"NOW I'm ready, take us out skipper"

He had done most of the flying on this trip, now it was her turn.

As they left the station he took in all the other ships milling around the entrance waiting to dock and a Cobra caught his eye.

<another 100K and I'll be flying one of those> he smiled at the thought.

He sat back, ready to go and make the credits he needed to start the next adventure.
06 Feb 2021, 4:26pm
Descartes laughed, grasping his meaning immediately. Breathing out in a deep sigh she zipped up her suit.

They still had to wait for clearance. She sealed the ship, scanning all the instruments, making final checks. The pad began to move. Two minutes 'till the launch-pad was in place. "Clear for take-off. thank-you for your visit to Webb City."

"Skipper huh? Watch and learn flyboy."

Still laughing, she hit the auto-everything button, closed her eyes and sat back.
06 Feb 2021, 5:22pm
Descartes laughed, grasping his meaning immediately. Breathing out in a deep sigh she zipped up her suit. She was, in fact, angry with herself. There was a long list of minor repairs that could have been completed while she was enjoying herself.

They still had to wait for clearance. She sealed the ship, scanning all the instruments, making final checks. The pad began to move. Two minutes 'till the launch-pad was in place. "Clear for take-off. thank-you for your visit to Webb City."

.
"Take us out skipper. Huh? Watch and learn flyboy."

Grinning, she hit the auto-everything button, closed her eyes and sat back.
06 Feb 2021, 5:35pm
He laughed and passed her a slip of paper from his pocket.

On the paper was written "Descartes will hit the 'help me' button"

"Too predictable" he grinned, lowering his glasses and winking at her playfully.

"I should have put a bet on that, I'd have won enough to get me a Conda!"

He gazed out of the front screen, taking in the black panorama dotted with glowing stars. It always gave him a thrill.
He guessed it had been the same for his dad, grandfather and other ancestors he'd been told about.
07 Feb 2021, 5:10pm
Descartes screwed up the scrap of paper and tossed it a lazy weightless arc in his direction. They were already out of MassLock and  in supercruise. FSDwas charging.

"I'll bet my imaginary virtue against your imaginary 'Conda that you have another piece of paper in the another pocket that says, 'Descartes effortleslly carries out a brilliant manouver to deftly depart  the station'".

Engines roared FSD kicked in.

It was over and they were heading towards a  gentle orbit around an inert planet.  Unbuckling and unzipping her 'suit, She said, "Did your predict this?" She was naked and floating to him

I slip into a dream after feeling a comforting heavy cover lay over me softly.

"Kieeraaa. . . wakey wakey. Get youre lazy butt out of the bed!" I yell standing by her bedside with some hot coffee to get ready for another day of hacking some quick cash into our accounts.

"UUGGHH. 5 More minute Mooom." She moans lazily opening her eyes sitting up. Hair a big mess due to the recent events.

"Come ON! I made fresh coffee. We have to get hacking again.. i think i might have struck gold with this one. 13Million credits! Im already locked on to its path were almost there." I say exitedly strugling to get
myself dressed due to the rushing.

"What is the target flying. We cant go messing with another Krait. . . Its dangerouse."

"Pffffttt Krait nah... i agree its way to dangerouse..." I say looking at her with a naughty like look. "Its a Python!" A loud siren goes off. PROXIMTY ALLERT. IMPACT IMENENT!

A loud harsh bang against the ship underbelly knocks us both up and onto the floor.

I Jump up gasping for air as i sudenly awake from my sleep standing in a defensive position. I look around seeing no one around me. I sigh deeply relaxing. "A jacket?" I look down picking it up. Its warm and heavy. I fling it around my back stretching my arms through the arms of the jacket. "Pfft im tiny" I stand amused with myself standing in the huge feeling jacket. I sit back down looking at the windows of the bridge. "I wonder where we are now. And whe- AhCHII!" i Sniff quickly. "That was refresh- AhCHII ah. Ones fine but two is kindAhCHII! uggh... I might be alergic to this jacket." I take it off putting it on the other seat. Eyes watering abit I look around for Damiyen. "OI! DAMI BOY U HERE?!"
09 Feb 2021, 2:55pm
I grunted softly, lifting up a piece of charred, blackened metal. The metal object disfigured and slightly bent and dented in several places. 'This was the piece of shit that almost killed me.' I thought to myself, remembering the time when I was interdicted and attacked by another anaconda equipped with a huge 4A auto-cannon. Out of the almost 270 shells fired, only a handful had actually damaged Abyss. The shell I held in my arms tenderly was a shell that I'd found embedded in the bulkhead closest to Abyss's frame-shift drive. "I almost died." I whispered softly, turning the shell over slowly, studying every imperfection and marking on the shell.

Slowly I set the shell down, it made a soft clang noise as I placed it against the metal floor of the storage room. I turn away and close the storage room behind me, the door hermetically sealing behind me as it closed. Briskly I moved towards the bridge, however in the process of moving towards the bridge, I pause, turning my attention towards the rather large unfixed hole in the bulkhead of the frame-shift drive. I reach slowly for the hole, putting my hand through the jagged metal of the bulkhead. "Damn it... I really need to fix this." I could feel the warmth of radioactive decay washing over me. I retracted my hand from the hole, then turned my attention back to moving towards the bridge.

I heard my name yelled from the bridge, to which I picked up the pace. "Chill out Kay-Lee, I'm down the hall." I respond, poking my head out from around the corner. "Well, you're finally awake, now you can sit around for several more hours while we approach the star." I say, a tone of regret detectable in my voice. "Look, there is showers here, and believe it or not there was space for a first class cabin. No on is occupying it currently, so it's all yours." I pause for a moment before speaking again. "Also your ship in down in the cargo hold, and your dog should be in there too." I turn away from Kay-Lee and move towards my quarters.

After I enter my quarters, the door closed swiftly behind me. I waited a few more moments before relaxing. I lurch forward, doubled over in pain, a deep stabbing pain spread all throughout my body. Sweat beats on the portions of skin which is exposed to the air, even skin covered by my suit starts sweating. "Urgh-" Is the most sound I can muster, followed by a short coughing fit, from which amounts of fresh blood come out in varying amounts. After the debilitating spell passes, I slowly stand and turn towards a small mirror I have propped up against a shelf and the metal wall of my cabin. I study myself, a somber wave of regret washes throughout my body and nervous system. Deep pangs of regret and hatred stab wildly against my heart. I look at myself, I'm a mess, my hair strewn about, small speckles and streams of blood cling to my skin and facial hair. "I'm slowly dyin'... ain't I Sam?" I ask to the feline, who was fast approaching to comfort me. Once she was close enough, she curled up under my chin, then proceeded to softly lick under my chin, as if I were one of her injured young.

Slowly I managed to sit up, I could feel the fever setting in as the room around me began to get sickeningly cold. "Fuck." I whisper, reaching for a thick woolen blanket. I slowly wrap it around myself, as I feel myself start to shake from the feeling of cold. "Da- D-D D- Damn it." I stutter out. "A- all I wanted to be was free..." I pause for a moment to allow another violent shivering spell to pass. I can feel my own warmth reflected back at me from the woolen blanket, it's a strange feeling, as if a hot breeze is slowly blowing over my skin, pressing up against the base of my neck while cold air moved slowly over my legs, but gradually I could feel it warming up. "I need the credits to fix her more, to shield the drive entirely, to replace the compromised bulkheads." I pause, feeling that all too familiar since of being weightless even though the gravity is on. "Fly me to the moon... let me play among the stars... Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter andmars..." I whisper out softly to Sam, my only audience, then watch as the room grows grey-scaled and gradually dims. "Wake me up soon Sam." I whisper to the feline as I teeter sideways. The searing pain finally getting the better of me. I fall sideways, my head immediately gets caught by my bed. The rest of my body goes entirely slack as I slip into that all too familiar unconscious state

The Abyss, sensing that I was no longer conscious began to gradually decelerate before exiting supercruise. After exiting supercruise, all of the main control systems locked down and required a vocal confirmation code to unlock again. After the computer put all the safety measures in place, Abyss activated her distress beacon. Although Abyss still sat some 6,000,000 light-seconds from LP 36-144's main star

"THANK YOU SO MUCH! I realy apreciate the hopitality. Hey here is youre jacket. . . thanx for letting me borrow it." I turn to take the jacket that is on the main command seat. "You probly want. . . Damiyen?" i say softly as i turned around only to see Damiyen is gone. "Well that was rude. Oh well i guess hes busy and i gota get to my SHIP and MYRA! I thought i lost them!" I walk towards the hanger where my ship is stored making my way slowly throught the ship. "This ship is huge... its anoying realy. How does one live here alone poor guy"

I get to the last door heading towards the hangers and suddenly feel the ship suddenly start to decelerate and drop out of super cruise causing me to suddenly loose balance. "Wooah. What the hell are we there already? I swear he said a few more hours." As i lean against the wall the room goes dark and a red warning light switches on in its place iluminating the rom with a bright red colour. "Oh pleas dont tell me we ran out of fuel. Damit Myra must be freaking out." I enter the hanger where my ship is located smiling at the sight of her fresh paint job done only a month ago. A sudden clang echoes in the room as the ramp unlocks and starts to lower. "Myra! Oh Myyyraa where are u girl." I open the quaters where she was last only to see her laying there in the middle of the room uninterested in my pressence. Looking like a unwanted pup i walk over to her and give her a hug. "Im sorry i left u like that and i PROMISE we will get out of here... i think... if i want to...FUEL!"

"Verity Scan the ship were located in to check fuel levels." A voice comes throught the coms. "Ships fuel levels are at seventy eight percent comander." I look down at the floor thinking why we stoped." Time to get a hold of Damiyen. Come on Myra we are leaving. Ugh i just want to take a shower and get freshend up." i murmur to myself.

I start to speed walk towards the bridge to get a sence of where the quaters are since i have no clue where to go. I arive at the bridge seeing everything is shutdown. "Computer. Locate quaters of Comander Damiyen. . . COMPUTER!" It stays silent. "Damit whats going on... Myra here sniff this and find where he is" I hold Damiyens jacket infront of Myra's nose watching as she takes in the scent. She looks u at me and turns towards the door and starts seeking where to go. "Good girl, lets go." We take a few minutes to walk till we get to the door with a 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign hanging by it. "Well guess this is it!"

I knock hard on the door with three hits from my fist. "OI COMANDER...OPEN UP!" No answer comes back and its quiet all around.

I open the door entering the room that is lit with a dim red light due to the ships status.

"Good girl, lets go." We take a few minutes to walk till we get to the door. Myra stops at a door sitting right infront of it indicating this is it. "Good girl" i tell Myra as i form a fist. I give three hard knock on the metal door but recieve no response. "COMANDER DONT MAKE ME BREAD DOWN THIS DOOR NOW" i yell jokingly wondering why its so quiet.

I open the door with a hiss of gas the door opens and i step in as Myra walks over to the corner of the room where the bed is located and begins to sniff it." Myra look out he...He's sleeping..." I lean over to try and yell into his ear so he could wake up but stop at the fact that i noticed his chest isnt moving. "Comander...Comander! WHAT! HEY! THIS is bad very bad." I start to think how bad the situation will be if someone finds us all the way out here in this situation and this status it wont be good. I get on top of Damiyen Grabbing him by the shoulders and start tugging him to try and shake him awake....im no medic and havent a slight clue of how to handle this.

"WAKE THE HELL UP YOU TWIT! U cant just DIE like this I havent even TRIED KILLING YOU YET!" I hit my fist onto Damiyens chest in hope he would wake up. "Crap." I say with a slightly high pitched voice feeling a tear streak down on my cheak wishing i had never came to Ingaba in the first place. "Why cant things just be simpler. Why do people keep dying around meAcHIII." i sneezed.

Rex caught her arm as he unbuckled his own restraints, both physically and figuratively.

He floated up and wrapped his arms around her weightless body as she scrabbled to divest him of his clothing.

The two of them writhed together in zero gravity, both thanking the stars that most of the bulkheads on this ship were padded.

Eventually he pulled them back down to his seat and raised an eyebrow as she sat in his lap and faced him, grinning from ear to ear.

"So this is a 'working ship' is it?" he smirked.

"I'd love to see what you do in a non-working one! However, that will have to wait, we DO have work to get done now"

He started to retrieve his clothes as he gently lifted her and softly propelled her toward the command chair.

In my unconscious state my mind wanders endlessly. Random snippets of memories stitched together in grotesque amalgamations. I'm watching memories play in the wrong sequence. Backwards, words jumbled and unintelligible. I can no longer feel the searing pain of the invisible knives cutting through my body... no through my very essence, violently ripping apart DNA, causing cells to commit suicide due to their now unstable nature. I slip further down, I can see myself in the third person. I watch my memories play out in front of me, as if I were watching a play from back stage. Memories I swore I'd never remember again attacked relentlessly. I watched myself rack up my first kill with a huge 4A auto-cannon. I watched in slow motion as the 8-inch shell screamed silently towards a fleeing pirate piloting a Hauler. At the time I was praying to some higher power that his shields wouldn't burst and that the shell from the auto-cannon would simply skip off his shields, but I watched in utter horror as the rest of my wing ripped off his shield in under a couple of seconds. Time slowed down for me as the shell impacted the Hauler. It felt as if I was far closer to the hauler, I could see in vivid detail as the 8-inch shell ripped through his ships hull, but it wasn't enough to set off the explosive charge within. I watched as the shell pitched and yawed as it passed through the hauler, from engine to cockpit. It ripped through layers of steel and armor, completely tearing apart the fuel storage and the Hauler's frame shift drive. I was forced to watch as the shell, which tumbled front over back, neared the Hauler's pilot, who expressed the strongest emotion of fear on his face. As the shell came in contact with the back of the pilot's seat, I watched in gory detail as it passed through him, then out the cockpit into empty space. Time returned to normal as his ship, now pilot-less and powerless, drifted slowly, pulled by the gravity well from the gas giant we had been fighting around.

My mind wandered further, into the deepest depths of my psyche, memories of my upbringing and childhood friends flashed before me. Somewhere in the distance I could hear yelling. Someone scolding me for dying. Although I technically didn't have a physical body within my own conscious, if I did I would have been grinning. After the scolding, I felt a sharp pain in the center of my chest which roused me from my death-like slumber.

I could hear that change in Kay-Lee's voice, that choked up and slightly high pitched voice my mother had whenever she was approached by Micheal to tell her that he was recruiting me to his company. My mother had begged and begged for me not to go, saying it would be the death of me. Maybe she was right. I managed to refocus my attention, and slowly raise a hand up to Kay-Lee's cheek before wiping a tear or two off. "Hey, you know that hurts right?" I ask in a meek voice. I manage to slowly open my eyelids and fight against the lead brick feeling they had. "I knew girls cried... but it's usually over someone they love." I pause for a moment, sitting up and moving away from Kay-Lee to prop myself up against the wall of the cabin. "And I just met you not too long ago. So don't be crying over me." I chuckle softly, which gradually becomes a wet cough, from which fresh blood is expelled. I clear my throat and swallow the small amount of blood in my mouth. "I'm sorry to worry you Kay-Lee, I really am." I pause to readjust. "This is my passionate lament... I find comfort in the never-ending black of space, however I'm far more susceptible to radiation than the average person." I stand slowly, bracing myself against the wall. "Thank you for waking me up Kay-Lee, I really mean it." I unsteadily exit the room, and stumble towards the piloting seat. I unsteadily take a seat and lean back. "Verity..." I sit silent as Verity responds. "Voice command required." I reply promptly. "Let me play among the stars." At the end of the statement, the ship's systems return to life. I plug in the coordinates for Achan, and start the engine warm-up process. "Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars, let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars..." I pause and sigh softly. "A four century old song about someone in love with another person." I chuckle softly and sit up. "Back to the old salt mine."

I lean back against a wall in a slightly paniced mood. Shocked at the sight of seeing Damiyen...A person just stand up from a death like state and ignore it. I look at Myra sniffing around wildly for something but my thoughts are racing so i ignore it. "He...I..WHAT!? Am i going crazy..he wasnt breathing he had no pulse... shoulders were cold. Or was it my hands out of the panic." I look into a window seeing my own reflection staring back at me like im broken. "Yep...thats it i need to take a shower...eat and then get some explination about WHAT THE HELL just happend."

"MYRA COME" Her ears perk up and she looks at me quickly running towards my side. Her tail slightly flaired open due to whatever she was looking for. I slowly walk towards the bridge of the ship and peek into the room. Seeing Damiyen just sitting there punching in coordinates and singing a song unknown to me. the words of the song is  soothing and warm but im not sure i reconize it. Myra walks past me over to the command seat and starts tugging on the hanging jacket. I try to whisper to her to stop. "Hey Myra! Dont!" But she ignores me and starts tugging on the hanging jacket thats hung on the comand seat. And i see Damiyen notice it so i step back behind the door. "Oh dear why does she have to be like this." I mumble softly and enter the room walking over still angry at Damiyen for just ignoring something like that. I walk quickly towards him quickly trying to go unoticed as i have my hand into a fist. "You son of a!" I make ready to throw my punch at Damiyens shoulder.
