Suki HaiThat actually happens, but it's just too quick for you to notice. That last glimpse of space you see before the rebuy screen is your view out of the escape pod window.

Damon8r351What would a handheld weapon in the Elite universe be like? Any time I've needed a personal weapon to make an appearance, I've just wrote "sidearm" and left it deliberately vague. Lasers, small railguns, flechettes, chemically propelled rounds still?
An unsuccessful attempt at producing a ‘stun’ laser, the Cauldus Nerve-blocker short circuits the body’s nervous system, sending the victim into a temporary spasm. A solid hit will cause the target to lose all balance and bodily control, falling to the floor, their weapon clattering out of reach. Sadly the side-effects of this weapon include inducing an occasional cardiac arrest.
Weaponry: Her only personal armament is a small plasma repeater pistol. Her pistol has a few settings; single shot, burst, and full auto; as well as stun, low power, and overcharge shot mode. Instead of ammo, her pistol uses a heatsink based system which must be vented after every "mag" is used to prevent injury to the wielder.
Damon8r351I may/may not need a fireteam of Alliance Defence Force Naval Infantry to attempt (perhaps unsuccessfully) an EVA boarding of a pirate Clipper out in the heliosheath of [TBD] system, so I needed to know what to put in their hands during the pre-mission equipping montage while looking like less of a fool than I usually do. Some form of scaled down plasma repeater/rifle might be in order. Ballistic/kinetic weapons are...inadvisable aboard a pressurized spaceship. Something good sci fi should always remember. Thanks for the help.
