It's all a ploy. A ploy d'y'hear? By Frontier. They've already said there's nothing coming for the next 2 years and if that's not enough to put people off the game they've decided to let the Thargies come in and destroy the solar system to make any current play more difficult. So peeps will leave and the time will come for them to justify bailing out due to losing the game population. They want to move on to pastures green...er.

As much as I'm against it, an attack on the sol system would make for a good story in the two bloody years to the next update....... But it still feels like a gap year.

I'm still concerned how the Thargoids knew the Gnosis was going to jump to Cone Sector FN-J b9-0 and unleashed the Hydra. They were aware of it's plans and hit us hard, what other plans are they aware of to start hitting stations hard now?

Plot twist. The 'goids didn't know the Gnosis was going to jump to Cone Sector FN-I b9-0 and the Gnosis bumped into the Hydra, which pulled the Gnosis from witchspace and started anally probing it with its high ammonia content girth?

I share the same feeling as other CMDRs on the '2 year wait' - Is there going to be any events similar to the Gnosis? I hope so for the games sake.

Having assisted in defending the Gnosis from Thargoid attack, I can honestly say that it felt like the Thargoids were holding back. They sent mainly Scouts, with only a few Interceptors of varying sorts.


Probably because anything more than that would have generated tons of salt.

The folks driving the Gnosis weren't exactly secretive about their plans. Obviously, we have the Thargoids' attention. Safe bet is that they're paying attention to our mass media as well.

All jokes aside, it would be cool if AX scanner had a chance of opening communications with the Thargoid scout/inteeceptor and find out what they really wanr. Do they want a war or do they want peace?

It's quite easy to explain how they knew it was going to be there.

It was openly talked about on public frequencies and everyone knew about it, not exactly hard for them to tune into galnet. They're advanced enough to have a translator for reading our comms.

Despite the captivating possibility of the Thargoids understating our language, it opens up far more questions than answers.
How did they manage to understand our language ? How long have they understood our language? Why haven't any different attempts of interaction been made? Are they unwilling to communicate? If so, why are they unwilling to communicate (besides the obvious of course)?

Based on past pilot's reports, it is more likely that the Thargoids interdicted the Gnosis from witch-space in the same manner as they have in the past with other ships. The location of the Gnosis post-Interdiction is consistent with other pilot's experiences, that is to say the entire event happens within a star system. How the Thargoids have the ability to do this is another matter entirely, one which still baffles us.

Of course, until we have more information, all we can do is speculate.
