Amata LireinIt was a crashed Anaconda, heavily guarded by some drones

There's supposed to be something about a lot of Condas that were sent out for some reason, and a bunch made it back, but some didn't. I wonder if that was one of those.

Soooo... since I've finished grinding rank with the Empire all the way I'm now heading into Fed space to grind with them as much as needed to get all their system permits. This resulted in me seeing a Fed-owned starbase for the first time. And sorry, I just need to ask: Who in the Federation thought it was a good idea to let them glow RED?!? If the idea was to make them look menacing because they are on a constant state of "Red Alert" I must disappoint them... my first association was

"Hey, look, that thing must be the largest brothel I ever saw"

((edited for typo))

That's a really good question. You should totally fly up to this red station and ask them that. At about, say, 5km away from the station or so.

Yes indeed, "Red Light District"! You know the prudish type, the more they protest, the more they declare... "Me thinks thou doth protest too much."

Amata LireinOut of curiosity: Is there any source on how those Federation and Imperial ranks actually look like? I was thinking of something in the lines of epaulettes, shoulder marks and/or medals? Or maybe even some concept art decals (if those exist)?

Well then, I did some research on how rank may be displayed inside the Empire (as the Federation ranks and how they are displayed should be pretty clear if you just look at how those ranks are named):

Apparently inside aristocracies an individual's title got indicated by the crown or coronet on top of his personal coat-of-arms.

As an example:

This crown or coronet will be placed on top of your personal escutcheon (shield containing your personal charge). So my guess is that the Imperial rank could be indicated by the Imperial Eagle carrying the respective crown representing your rank.

Okaaaaay, armed with the knowledge mentioned above I sat down and came up with an idea how these Imperial ranks may actually look like:

Again, that's just an idea by myself, nothing official!

Simple and effective.

Thanks^^

If  any of you're artistically more talented then me feel free to improve those. I myself decided to go for a more stylized approach to those coronets as I think that those overly elaborated ones would not fit the 3300s that well, especially when you consider the already very stylized Imperial Eagle.

I think you did a fine job, & appears based in canon, & plausible too.

Well, there's a difference between ST & E:D. In ST, the Federation had Blue as its signature color, the KDF had Red, & the Romulan/Alliance had Green.

Hey, at least it gave me an idea for my second log entry

Jubei HimuraHmmmmmm... well thought out. It's giving me ideas...

Oh, care to elaborate?

My guess is you don't live in a monarchy? There are multiple princes and princesses. Everyone in the line of succession is a prince/princess. What you refer to would be crown prince/princess, which would be the one -first- in line of succession.
