Kirky007Thargoids appear to be the silent moody kind.
Soon they'll start painting their nails black and begin listening to My Chemical Romance. "It's not a phase, Momgoid!"

CephyI just want to be able to build ships, from ore, to mineral refinement to part making to ship building. I want something other than mindlessly selling to the simulation to make credits. I want a sustainable not boring way to pit groups against each other. I want harder to find resources, not easier. Anyone with a squadron of 1000 people should be able to build their own faction and earn the right to begin construction of a station and a home system and a bid at the power play. I believe the time is more than tremendously ripe for space legs and atmospheric entries.. I want alarms blaring as I dump heat sinks entering a planet with atmosphere too thick while going too fast. Enveloped in fire I want to fly amongst habitable planets and land in specialized zones where I can trade make connections with players , exchange knowledge. I want a lot more things to find in that codex. I believe these are common playerbase whims and expectations for the game they love most. I also trust and believe Fdev will deliver each and every one of the things above mentioned and more. We do need to support and keep them up and running, which may mean the ocasional 5$ purchase of arx, and the expansion when it comes. It’s a way of ensuring they stay putting out the content. I will be playing elite way into the 3350’s so we have time.
I have to say I'd leave the game if that was required. In Real Life that is NOT how I get a car or a washing machine or a refrigerator. Or, heck, even my house (although I have done a fair amount of renovation). There are businesses who do those things, and I purchase from them. I have no interest in grinding through all that just to get a ship. Bad, very bad.

JoeD246Random thought: FWIW I would like to see some sort of diplomacy begin with the Thargoids. To those who love combat and rescues, it doesn't mean a ceasefire needs to be declared (at least right away). But I think it would make good lore for the humans in the galaxy to have to learn the Thargoid language (and vise versa) and for talks to begin. Perhaps sound files and/or written text files of the Thargoids could be posted, and CMDRs could help understand the language. Thoughts?
There's no fun in that.

I think, even before diplomacy might be considered, there must be some form of mutual, common ground, a frame of reference.
Some forms of life might be so alien in every way & every concept, for none of that to be possible.

It's been a while since I played it and I didn't get too into it on account of running it on modern hardware when I was in high school being a CHORE but iirc one of the paths the main quest went involved it turning out all the dumb shit thargoids said about "edible poets" being the result of issues with the translator NOT dissimilar to the TNG references being bandied about and INRA perpetuating the war to get at goid tech or something.
The other path was just what the Jameson backstory currently is sans our boy getting screwed over by the aforementioned shady intelligence organization.

OOSqueekyThere was, in fact, diplomacy with the Thargoids in FFE.
Unfortunately, my boy, the lore of that game has ben officially relegated to 'myth' status... well, until FDev brings back some of the main points in current stories.
By the way, I love this guy's sense of style! I mean, I'm personally of the Hamel style of characteristics. But, yours is just wonderous!
