hm good point.

Dirnivirwhy do pirates fly in imperial ships and how do they get them. also you never see them flying federal ships. like never the cutter or corvette. but you see them in couriers and clippers.

I once was attacked by a NPC Pirate with a Cutter. Probably he was a very successful Billionaire Pirate, or perhaps a boring Elon Musk trying to find some "bad boy" excitement...

From the in-game description - is anything in-game official lore or not? - found in a station market:

"Robotics are used to perform simple automated tasks or to act as avatars for remotely located humans in hazardous environments. They are also used for repetitive and highly accurate production line tasks." [my emphasis]

Hmm. Verrry interesting.

And?

That seems to open up additional possibilities, that's all.

SapphoThat seems to open up additional possibilities, that's all.

Yes but tech like that has existed since the year 2016 by my knowledge. Even the people of over 1,000 years ago enjoyed such activities remotely.

The point is, re: lore-valid RP.

So, Sappho may be an avatar of some human to work in hazardous conditions, doing repetitive and highly accurate actions.

Oh god! Interfering with people via remote automaton is somehow worse than someone's independent sex-toy wondering into the bar and striking up a conversation with the patrons.

I think, in that situation, it would be someone using the robot to interact with the world by proxy.

When I was researching before and read that line I translated it like bomb disposal robots or, in a future setting, soldiers controlling robots remotely (like IOI in Ready Player One but on an actual battlefield).

I think it would be interesting for a massive crime boss or a big celeb to use a robot in that way to avoid people or assassination attempts.

True. I'm thinking of things right at this moment.

I had a boss use a robot that also projected her hologram on its self remotly so she could safely meet with contractors 'in person'

Like telepresence with a physical element for shaking hands or using items in the office.

To be honest, that might be logical explanation to what I suspected: on-foot gameplay in Odyssey is basically remote-controlled avatars.

Robotic, remote-controlled avatars... that choke to death when you run out of air.

Robots like Sappho don't need air, at least, not in RP. "Hazardous" would include extreme environments, I presume, & that would seem to include a vacuum.

Or a ship cabin with a "gaseous anomaly" as the commander.
