Hey again,This one is a bit offtopic and more of a request for it to be remembered than anything else, you know how it is, Sarah is a softy and honestly i don´t have it in myself to deny this to her.
I think it was in one of these twin systems maybe Sirius or The Pup I can´t remember where and there we found a derelict ship, The Clemen´s Truth. What a sad story this is. You know the routine, we sent some hails, nobody answered so we proceeded to dock. We enter the ship and we saw all those people dead like, I don´t know, maybe a dozen dead in their bunks, and some suspicious drink all around the place. We took one of those packs to analyze and moved on trying to figure out what happened.
You know, I´ve seen a lot, probably more than most of people along each Jump, but never something like this. These guys have all committed group suicide. Some of them had these notes talking about communing with this comet, The Clemens (That´s what the ship`s name was all about), and how if they died when on its tail they would live forever within the comet and run through the Starfield for all the eternity. This was nuts, i still can't believe people were so desperate to put their faith in something like this.
And then we found the instigator behind all of this dead as the rest in cockpit. He made them call him the Starchild. Why do all this cult leaders always have to go for this exagerated names? The name only should tell you enough for not following whatever nonsense this guy was preaching. He had actually went through it it seemed, in some kind of revolving ego revenge. The poor bastard had carried with him all these people because someone, in some place nobody knows about made him feel like nothing. This was really shocking to me. As someone said to me, people will always be people I guess.
And yet, the thing i can´t forget over anything else is this young girl who actually didn´t went through this "ritual". We found her near the cockpit, alone with one of those packs emptied up and her "suicide" note only showed regret. She was scared and didn´t do it at the same time as the others and she was scared because now she would have to die alone and her soul wouldn´t transmigrate or whatever... How deluded you need to be to end things like this. We check the ship logs, not a single help request, nothing from her. She just died in that little corner all alone, for nothing.
I think this scene will haunt me forever. If I ever Jump again I will try to find them and stop them. This wasn´t right, I don´t know what purpose life serves but i´m sure it´s not meant to end like this.
