Another day, another bit of family drama, not mine though. Seems Sam and his dad, Jacob, don't get along. I'm not sure what the story there is but it's there. Too bad Cora is, well, is she in the middle? And where is Mrs. Coe, Cora's mom? Anyway, we got the map and will be heading out to see if we can find another artifact based on something the Akila founder and Sam's ancestor had written about, a cave with a lack of any readings whatsoever like the cave I found my artifact in on Vectera. Ammo? Check? Upgraded my rifles a bit more? Check. I'm ready, Mr. Blue Eyes. In the back of my mind, I'll just keep quietly chanting, He's Got A Baby-Mama.

Got the artifact and added it to the others as soon as we got it back to the Lodge. Debriefed and talked about having to take down the Shaw gang, including their leader, Shaw herself. I tried to negotiate but she wasn't in a listening mood.
After good night's sleep, and Chatty Cora set me straight on her parents, she had Sam and I decided to follow up on a slate I found about a secret base. The Frontier can't fuel a jump that big and along the course to refuel, we landed into another mystery at Porrima. There's a big ship full of colonists that left earth 200 years ago. The ship, The Constant, is an orbiting museum. Still in the process of negotiating for them and the current colony, a corporate resort place called Paradiso.
Knowing that Sam and his wife, er ex-wife? ex girlfriend? Not sure on that but they aren't together and haven't been for a while. Anyway, Sam confessed to me he has trouble coexisting with the fame his ancestor has, that his family has, how things are expected of him like he's some magician that can pull rabbits out of hats. I get it. My father is infamous, and my ancestor, well, all the cartoons about peg-legged pirates all stem from Francois Le Clerc. My father expects to pull me into his business as a pirate in the big-black starfield. Sam's father expected him to follow him in his political endeavors and being a Coe big-shot.
Sam's easy to be around. I get him. He gets me. And he's a damn good pilot so I'm learning a lot. He says I'm a natural and the other members at Constellation have taken to calling me Captain. Still, I'd like to finance my own ship and give the Frontier back to Barrett. Working on that, saving up the credits after keeping stocked on ammo and rifle upgrades.
Well, I guess I'm going to try and finish up this negotiation between the Constant colonists and the corporation running Paradiso before we can get to that secret base mystery.
