2330-MAY-21: For All, Into the Starfield

It's been almost a week since my last log entry. Sarah, Vasco, and some well-meaning nutjob joined me on the Frontier. Our mission was to track down a UC Vanguard pilot and persuade him to give up his artifact, another of the pieces like I pulled out of the rock with Argo. UC Vanguard was formed when the UC realized it was a bunch of civilians that kicked their asses at the Battle of Cheyenne. Not exactly the lesson we were trying to teach them.We no more got off Jemison and entered the Sol system and a bunch of spacers show up! Now, usually, when I sign onto a mission it's all go. Mission focused. Nothing else. But when we pulled that datapad off the spacer talking about the secret base of the Mantis?! How could we not take a little (ok, large) detour? Lucky we did, too, before the pack of spacers we dealt with inside the lair gained access. That's right, yours truly is now the baddest badass in the galaxy. I'm wearing the armor and flying the ship, at least.
We did finally end up locating the Vanguard pilot and getting his artifact... saving him from, you guessed it, MORE SPACERS!
It's been one long fight, but being back out here in the big empty has got my old juices flowing. The exploration, seeking out mysteries, and unseating spacers off their ill-gotten gains has been nothing short of a rebirth. Without even realizing it, we've made the galaxy a better place just by looking around and being observant.
What's that saying they have? For all. Into the Starfield.
