Quest stages

A member of a group of target person on planet has angrily left the group. They asked me to see if I could locate them and convince them to rejoin the group.
Objective: Find and convince target person to return to location
I convinced the target person to return. I should help them return to their friends at the location.
I gave up trying to convince target to return to target's friends.
The quest giver was happy to have their friend returned. I was paid for my effort.
The quest giver is dead.
The target is dead.
