Quest stages

A member of a group of target person on planet wants me to go gather mineral samples in a nearby cave. I get to keep the minerals, quest giver just needs to scan them.
Objective: Mine the minerals at location (/)
I gathered the mineral samples for the quest giver. Now I just need to return to location and get them scanned.
Objective: Return the minerals to quest giver
quest giver rewarded me for gathering the minerals for quest giver to scan.
The quest giver is dead.
