Quest stages

target person on planet are being harassed by a group of Spacers who have been doing hit and runs from space. Until their spaceships are removed from planet things could get out of hand.
Objective: Destroy the hostile ships in orbit around planet
The Spacer ships have been killed, ending the threat they pose to the outpost. I should let the quest giver know.
Objective: Return to the quest giver
I let the quest giver know that they no longer need to worry about Spacer ships in orbit.
The quest giver is dead.
