Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hmmm... and what about wingman - senior wingman, it may fit better whole wing thing?

the term officer seemed wrong also , after all every pilot is an officer - so the ground crew cant argue ;P

so after a bit of the old head scratchin .... how about

  • Wing commander - can do anything; max. 1 per wing
  • Wing Leader - can approve join requests, can change topics, can delete posts; max. 1 per 10 members
  • Senior Wingman - can approve join requests, can change thread topics; max. 1 per 5 members
  • Wingman - veteran member
  • Pilot - standard member
  • Co-Pilot - default rank, cannot post to wing gallery (when done)

Yeah, as pilots are officers, this is little bit problematic for naming and distinguishing roles. So for that reason I will rather want to avoid "wingman" as regular member and "senior wingman" as managing role - these names are too similar and there is no clear difference between roles.

So what about: recruit, co-pilot, pilot for regular members and wingman, wing leader, wing commander for managing roles? Eventually: co-pilot, pilot, wingman, senior wingman for regular members and "something", wing leader, wing commander for the others (which will be probably better, it gives more options for regular member ranks)?

I got yet another idea from wings feature/improvement - "something" mentioned above can be "squadron leader". Also with possibility to form squadrons within a wing. Does it make sense?

yes , much better split of roles

not sure if you are after a 4th / 5th member rank in the last part , or if it was an edit error of position

on that point , global ranks could be ''flight XXX''.
ie you would be the flight comander

The bottom rank could be "Cabin Boy"

Can we have a commander bio? where you could add RP style backgrounds and stuff?

Greeboski: Ok, thanks... I will compile it together with respect to possible future upgrades and we will see how will be going...
Driftwood: Excellent idea!

Warjo: I was thinking about it, too. But, I am not sure how long it can be (so where to place it properly), so for now I suggest to make it as a logbook entry and later it can be eventually moved to more appropriate place.
