Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Some more questions about the api ... Will there be some sort of beta testing? What are the things the api will provide? Thanks in advance and o7

Yes, there will be some betatesting. In the first stage is the API targeted to stuff that brings in the commander data like ranks, reputation, credits, jumps, materials, etc. to Inara so it will make updating your profile easier (for example there can be a plugin in EDMC which will send the data on the fly from your journals). The only exception at this moment is the basic commander search which will send back some basic/public data of commander as seen on the profile page.

Hey Artie, I want to remove a ship from my fleet but don't want to show it as a 'sale' because I had already taken that into account when I updated my credits and other ship specs...how do I do that without selling it in Inara to get the ship off my roster? Many thanks for the dedication,

Simply sell it and then erase the record from your log, it should work.

Thanks for your answer Artie .... nothing in here for me unfortunately. I am on XBOX we do not have access to the cmdr journal .... still .... I was hoping for things like engineer blueprints, station data etc. thx again and o7

The engineer blueprints are mostly static data, so there is not so much need for an API (and the definitions can be gained from the Coriolis source on github, too). The station data and similar stuff can be effectively gained real-time via EDDN network or themroc is providing daily dumps on EDDB so I don't feel it is needed to be there.

RenraikuHey Artie, just noticed a very tiny error in The Dwellers - Blueprints page, it shows Power Distributor Max Grade 3 instead of 5.

I think the pulse lasers should also be at grade 5 for the dweller. This site is great info, big thanks!

Artie A bit of an anomaly with the journal update process:

If a (player) faction is in more than one system then the faction details with regard to active and pending states are updated from the last Cmdr to visit one of those systems (with the appropriate API, EDD etc). In most circumstances this is just what we need, however, some states are not faction-wide such as War, Civil War and Election. This means when a Cmdr visits a system other than the system actually active or pending one of these states, then it will update the faction page with incorrect information.
Whilst it is true that a faction might actually be at war (or pending) in just one system, there are restrictions on the faction’s influence throughout all their systems.
A similar issue occured prior to the introduction of the journal update concerning active states whereby the last visited system's state was cascaded to all the factions systems.

Well, do you have some example where it is wrong? It should be correctly handled already, so although overall minor faction state may be displayed as "War/Civil war/Election"  (because it is the correct faction state, there can be no other with it), in the respective systems it is displayed as W/CW/E just where the conflict is happening, in the other systems it is displayed as "None". Also, the W/CW/E state for the faction is reset just when there is no W/CW/E present in any system for this faction (the "None" state doesn't ultimately override everything).

So if it is not correct somewhere, then it's a sneaky nasty bug and I need more detailed info to track it.

Or do you mean the "pending state" in the manual minor faction edit? It should affect just the pending state, not the current state. It will be probably a good idea to remove it completely from the manual edits now, as the info on pending states is received from the journals, too.

I have PM'd you some screenshots to show examples.

The information regarding states on the system pages appears to be fine. It is the information regarding states (active or pending) that appear on the Minor Faction's page that seems to be affected. It only relates to those states that are not 'Faction-wide' but specific to a single system.

Do you can provide some screenshot, please?

There is an Inara update with the new features added (and other minor tweaks across the site):
  • Wing documents: You can better organize your stuff - wing history and squadron histories were moved there. You can eventually move your long front page descriptions or discussion sticky posts there as well (there can be various visibility levels set, same as for the missions).
  • Most active conflict zones: You can get a better overview of the wars/civil wars ongoing with (possibly) most commanders involved there, if you are looking for companions in the fight.
  • Signatures: Inara signature images were slightly revamped and additional customization options were added.
  • Commodities/components locales: As FD kindly provided their strings for the market commodities and blueprint components, their translations were improved, spanish and russian translations added, including components descriptions (thanks to CMDR Akel144 for transcribing spanish category names from the game). You can set the preferred language in your Settings.
  • Fleet changes and journal imports: There was necessary to change how are ship values handled, for the future improvements. The ship values are now separated to hull and modules value, so please adjust these in your fleet edit accordingly (if they are wrong, especially for the discounted ships). Also, the journal import now updates your module values for each ship used during the session, so be sure the hull value is set right (unfortunately, there is no information about the ship hull value in the journals).

Hey Artie, I think I broke it.

It didn't just not load a chunk, my signature actually now looks like this.

13 Jul 2017, 11:38am
Please try it again, I forgot to upload some stuff for signatures before and it should be fixed now.

Great updates, thanks Artie!

Could the Wing Rank that appears on the signature reflect the customised titles please?
