Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

With everyone's Exobiology ranks getting zero'd at their current rank, would you be able to pull together any figures at which credit level their rank percentages start moving again?
That would give us an idea what the new ranks start at. It sounds like we're all going to be grinding the rank for zero rank improvement until we catch up with the new levels.
Rewards went up 20 fold, and they said the ranks went up to match in the 14.01 patch, that would put Elite V at 30 billion credits (yikes!).
The maths would be to find the min(n2) for each n1 where n3 = 1 (using the journal values below)

Checked it multiple times. Maybe someone can double check it
Well, it was certainly there four days ago, as I am checking the journals. It seems to be a little bit farther from the jump point, so it may not appear immediately.

Hello, very likely not - I am not keeping the rank percentage progression history nor the game statistics history, so I cannot put it together over time. Also my understanding is that Frontier made no rank progression reset, just adjusted the requirements (and the "zero" is just a thing on the output). So for example, somebody who was just at Elite may be now at "shadow" Ecologist rank and somebody who was close to Elite I may be on shadow Geneticist rank. In other words, the threshold when the progress will start to move again will be different for each commander, based on their previous progress achieved (the experience difference will vary).
The only thing I can try to check is what the profits in the stats for the actual non-zero progression ranks are, assuming it includes also bonuses. Let's see...
Edit: It seems it may be roughly 400 millions for Collector and one billion credits for Cataloguer rank now (profit+bonuses combined), if the game stats and ranks directly relate. No higher ranks with a non-zero progress were updated today, so at least that.

Yeah they might take our update 14 progress and divide that by 20 and then add that back to our update 13 values. That means everyone will progress at different profit levels, depending how hard they ground it before 14.01 dropped the nerf on us.
It shouldn't need any progression history, just a snapshot taken from a recent batch of records. We'd just need the lowest profit that anyone needed to get their percentage to 1 (I didn't use 0 to remove all us reset types from the dataset).
select rank, min(profit) where progress = 1 and date > "2022-12-07" group by rank
We'd just need to find 15 players (1 per rank) who leveled up recently who didn't take advantage of the upgrade 14 grind advantage. That would be the baseline value, which would be higher for those of us who ground out update 14 before the nerf.
Anyway, I won't press it any further, I'm sure the recent changes are keeping you busy.

Interesting, I will keep an eye on that. Maybe it disappeared during the recent server restart or there is something else happening. Thanks for the info.
Chase QuinnellSo a bit off topic but is this entire site really created and managed by one lone Cmdr?
Yes.

Thanks for that Artie. It looks like FDev increased rewards 20 fold, but increased the rank level requirements 30 fold. That is so harsh, and so FDev.
I hope everyone enjoys the grind, personally I'm giving up on that game loop. It was fun for a week.

I would like to know exactly what the station search option for Fleet Carrier Services is for, and how that differs from Fleet Carrier Administration.
Also, I searched for a station with both FC Admin and FC services and INARA said there's only one? In the whole bubble?
I went there and I didn't see anything special. It's not a vendor and doesn't have any special contacts. I didn't see any extra carrier management options either.
So what is FC Services?

Kyr OneHi. First post so please forgive me if this is the wrong place for this post.

Hello, FC services are usually the fleet carriers themselves, FC vendor is where you can buy your FC and FC administration where you can outfit them. So basically, you usually want to have only one service like these selected, so they won't "collide" with each other like with the combination of services+administration. In other words, for finding star systems where fleet carrier can be bought is FC vendor selected good enough. For outfitting the FC administration alone is sufficient, too.

Looks so, not sure if the bonus payouts are still double or more, which may be a rationale for such increase. But to be sure, I have reported it to Frontier as a possible problem.

Not a bug at all - you are just combining the search requirements that typically doesn't exist in the game. You are looking for FC services which are player-owned fleet carriers and FC administration, which cannot be present in them (you cannot outfit your carrier from another carrier). This is simply a combination of conditions that almost doesn't exist, thus it doesn't provide any results (except that one megaship listed).

OK, final maybe stupid question: if FC Services doesn't actually have anything to do with a station but rather FCs in the system, why is it a station search option?
Thank you for your replies

To be honest, I do not remember. I know that it wasn't included there before (to make it less confusing), but there was a request to provide this option with a good rationale given for that, but I am now unable to recall what it was.
