Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

ArtieWell, I may add something there. Is any interest in it by other wings? (question to other wing leaders)

Artie,

I can say that the Chapterhouse (my wing) generally does diplomacy directly with other groups, not in public.

That being said, Having a "Wing Announcements" board similar to the logbook board would be a wonderful addition. A place for Wings to post public news and diplomatic announcements on the front page (much like logbooks). The Wing leader and maybe the two below would have the ability to post these.

Think about it, I know a bunch of wing leaders that would utilize this. But again, don't just have it be a discussion forum, post it like the logbooks. Technically this would be a wing logbook section.

The idea for this central public forum would be much like the UN where, when private diplomacy has failed, it becomes public. The problem with putting these things at the wing level is that no one wants to go to every wing page to discuss "the problem in the Achenar sector" or "what are we going to do about these pirates in the CG?" o7

If something like that is established then it only should include the two parties / Wings involved and an appointed moderator / conciliator. Otherwise it'll be a mess to put it lightly.

And only those involved should be allowed to post too in that very forum. To prevent everything going south even more.

I think it should allow any wings to participate - many UN meetings are shouting matches and I'm sure we'll have one or two of those here. While I'd leave it open for anyone to read, I would recommend that we restrict posting permissions to Ambassadors (existing Wing role) of established Wings. I could even go so far as to say Wings associated with In-Game Factions, but don't want to limit it too much.

Personally, I think this idea would devolve into something rather toxic.

Please take no offence Prometheus VR-42. You have explained your idea and on the surface I do like it. However, the potential for outside interference and toxicity on a public forum like that is too great, as well as the amount of moderation that would be needed for such an endeavour.

Perhaps if you had a more detailed idea on how you would keep it from getting toxic, I may be onboard. But for now, I will have negotiations private and invite a private third party to moderate.

However, I still stand by having logbook-like postings for public Wing news and announcements, separate from the proposed diplomatic forum.

it's an interesting thought....i would just limit the access per thread to only the wings involved....

Isn't this just duplicating what PMs, Discord, and various other platforms already provide?

No offence taken - debate is good. Which is also why I think the Roleplay forum is good. We conduct the majority of our negotiations privately. However, having a community-wide forum to declare intent and call parties together is valuable when negotiations have broken down or when the threat is persistent and/or global. We could establish a set of rules (e.g., must be in roleplay, must conform to Robert's Rules of Order, etc.). I'm open to suggestions.

The idea behind this is that the wings involved have already negotiated. This forum would be the formalization of the negotiations or failure thereof. The idea here is a model UN - the negotiations are done. Trying to keep threads based on wings would probably create a nightmare for Artie. This would be one continuous thread of notices.

For example, in the UN, State A doesn't negotiate with anyone in front of the Security Council or the General Assembly. They speak directly to the Chair. State B doesn't argue with State A in this setting, they provide their response directly to the Chair. Much like the UN, this will not result in action by the UN. However, interested third parties can communicate in private with State A and State B. At the very least, everyone knows State A's stance and State B's stance and can form their own opinion.

Heh heh... Ironically, the following post in Inara Nexus should actually appear in this Forum I'm recommending:

Ah, I see! Perhaps the wing news/announcement thread would be the answer then.

Ratification would definitely fit this Forum's role.
