Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

NFC PhistoIsn't this just duplicating what PMs, Discord, and various other platforms already provide?
Not wrong, but I think he may be speaking for wings that are on Inara only and do not have Discords. I could be wrong.
PROMETHEUS VR-42No offence taken - debate is good. Which is also why I think the Roleplay forum is good. We conduct the majority of our negotiations privately. However, having a community-wide forum to declare intent and call parties together is valuable when negotiations have broken down or when the threat is persistent and/or global. We could establish a set of rules (e.g., must be in roleplay, must conform to Robert's Rules of Order, etc.). I'm open to suggestions.
Interesting idea, perhaps greater heads than mine are needed to brainstorm the possibilities.

I also think it should be limited to either in game factions or large wings. It's not an attempt to bar people but if anyone can start a wing and go full troll on day one then the toxicity will rise.

There are many Player Minor factions (PMF) out there who are empty husks because their Wings have long lost interest or became too frustrated by others messing them up. Or the Wings straight don't exist anymore.
And yes, not knowing the exact workings of the BGS can break your neck, even if you have nobody working against you. But quite a few are out there running the Survival of the fittest attitude. Or simply have their PMF created and placed somewhere, knowing fully well it'll just end up annoying others and causing strife.
While some excitement is needed not to make things too dull, to allow pure troublemakers to have a PMF as a fake excuse to do their Trolling doesn't qualify as playing the BGS.
One can hope that once FD comes around with their Crime&Punishment changes, the PvE section will get considerably harder for such individuals.

Van R FlyheightI definitely like the idea put forward of ambassadors being able to post. It would give something to do for that role. So perhaps Wing commander, deputy and ambassador could post ie. People already responsible for diplomacy.

So, the further question is: Will be eventually a public space where can multiple parties "seriously" negotiate as described above ever used? Or there are the private two-side talks preferred and just some space for the public declarations can be useful?

Do people really go to the trouble of doing that? BGS sounds like a lot of work for a troll.

I don't think I buy this. Just because a PMF is doing something that inconveniences you/something you don't particularly like doesn't make them a troll.
I think this is one of the issues behind modern gaming - people are way too quick to call other people/groups trolls without understanding the reasoning behind their actions.

ArtieInteresting discussion. My perception for this hypothetical thread was that it should serve as some kind of "neutral conference room", where anybody may ask for the support, can openly declare a war/support against/to another wing or simply make public negotiations as part of their strategy (to gather allies, to end a war in an open dialogue, etc.). I think it shouldn't serve just to two-side talks (because as was mentioned in the comments, there are already other ways how to do it in private) and also it is hard to provide some facilitator in such kind of talks (but it is not excluded).
Yes - you have hit the nail on the head. :-)

I believe most negotiations would continue to happen in private - the public declarations are really what I was shooting for. If you like, I can draw up rules of behavior which could be made a Forum sticky for everyone to consider.

The biggest problem (as also mentioned) is that it may become toxic and it is definitely something I do not want to support. But, I can imagine with some strict rules it may work and it doesn't need to be RP - people just must realize it is a space for the "serious political talks", not a space for insults and accusing someone that he stole his toy and destroyed his sand castle during that.
So, the further question is: Will be eventually a public space where can multiple parties "seriously" negotiate as described above ever used? Or there are the private two-side talks preferred and just some space for the public declarations can be useful?
This is why I say start out with a Wing logbook/Press Release section. Many of the active wings will take advantage right away. Just remember to set it up like the logbooks, and not a discussion forum.

you could limit it to specific wing roles being able to post there.

ArtieRenownNot sure if mentioned already but the signatures don't seem to updating on external forums. They are updated on here, but even if you copy the generated code for the image and paste it shows old data from before the site went off with the DNS thing. So even if it shows updated on here it's displaying old info. This isn't a few hours old data as it says it can take to update but days old. Anyone else notice this? For example it's showing my Fed ranking as Chief Petty Officer as I was up until the the 27th of November I became Warrant Officer, I have gone through 5 other rankings since too.
If the signature image is alright here, it may be caused by browser caching (there is some set), please force reload the forum page where is the signature image used and I expect it should be alright then.
Google Chrome, in the settings/advanced/content settings/cookies/see all cookies and site data/ I deleted the items in the list for forums.frontier - still seeing the old signature from last week.
Opened Opera, logged in saw the current updated signature as it should be
Any ideas of what else I'm missing on Chrome?

Just replying to myself.
Found the old CTRL + R and then CTRL + F5 trick. That seemed to do the job, I knew of CTRL F5 but not the CTRL R before.
Sorted now

"Neutral Conference Room"
I was hoping that the new System/Faction INARA NEXUS would fill this roll as a location for [formal] meetings and be the Multi-Faction membership option allowing differing factions to discuss issues in a larger forum and get the benefit of a quorum to solve/sort/sanction/settle galactic issues.

My understanding is that Inara Nexus is for the Inara Player Faction's public dealings. This proposed forum would be for everyone.
I believe I've summarized the rules for this proposed forum below. Let me know if I've missed something.
Roleplay: Galactic Congress rules
The purpose of the Galactic Congress is to formalize the results of negotiations (or failure thereof), to declare Faction intent, to place open requests for support, and to ratify agreements. Negotiations between parties should have already occurred via private message or other means. This forum isn’t for individual debate and directly addressing individuals other than “the Chair” is not permitted. The ability to post to the Forum is restricted to Ambassadors of established Wings with In-Game Factions. These rules are based in part on Robert’s Rules of Order:
1. All remarks must be directed to the Chair.
2. Remarks must be courteous in language and deportment.
3. Avoid personalizations, never allude to others by name or to motives.
4. No member can speak twice to the same issue unless changes have occurred (“Reconsider” or "Amendment").
5. An infraction of the above rules must result in deletion and submission of an amended post (“Point of Order”).
