Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

I check the systems on Inara in real-time (as soon as I jump into a new system) and am amazed how well it works, it really is almost immediate. Which was why I flagged up LHS 1097 as it ws so unusual for things to not work as expected.

I do sometimes see other peoples log entries coming in with old data, and this is to be expected but usually a revisit corrects the situation.

I have to reiterate, I'm a very happy camper. All feedback and requests come from the best of places. Keep up the great work.

ArtieIt came in that way, probably some cached data client-side. As those data "pretends" they are actual it's complicated to catch. They are usually override by the correct newest data shortly, anyway. I see the update was made around your timestamp.

Yes it has been corrected now. Took a while for my update to come through, I updated at 9pm'ish but didn't see it change last night, it is showing the last update at 6:36pm. So I'm confused about the timing. I did CTRL-F5 but didn't see any changes, server cache perhaps?

Sanna is showing as DIscontented again when it is actually Elated.

Elite does some strange caching client-side.  It'll hold and report the old data until you close to the launcher, the main menu doesn't cut it.  The daily tick to update everything starts around 13:30 game time and can take an hour or more to propagate through the galaxy.  Consider closing to the launcher between 14:30 and 15:00 if you want to send updated info.

Edit: The tick drifts over time, 13:30 is current but it's likely to move.

I am hoping this is the right thread to ask this.

Is there any way I can use my own paint scheme/skins on my ships. The ones for sale are nice but I want my own unique skin. I can design it just need the program to place it to the ship.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Buddabeast,

Using our own ship skins isn’t a thing in game, at least at the moment.

We have to make do with what Frontier provide I’m afraid.

My data gets to Inara via EDMC and appears within seconds of me jumping to a new system. All this data is post-tick.

You can see here that on the 28th the 5.55pm and 6:36pm data is from the previous day and shouldn't be appearing in the 28th. The graph shows a spike that just shouldn't exist.

Hello there Artie o7

Please forgive my ignorance if the topic already was discussed, but did you plan to incorporate the Installations into Inara that came with 3.0 (as in, that we can edit / update them like any other Space Station / planetary Settlement)? Just wanted to do it and the closest I could find was the Orbital Engineer Base thingy, but since the Installations themselves have nothing to do with Engineers in the first place it didn't seem right.

I'm just starting to catalogue those in our Systems and stumbled across Agricultural, Scientific and Comms so far.

Yes, it will be added later today or during the next week.

In all the forums under the 'Discuss' tab, the page selector appears both before and after the entries on each page.

Could this feature be added to the Galnet Archive section as well, please?

Yep, will be in the next update this week.

Don't know if it counts as a bug, so I'm hoping I can post this here.
Every time I play, I have to import my Frontier data on Inara. I play on PS4 and each time I import data all of my ships list as being at stations I haven't been docked at for weeks.
Anybody else have this issue or a known fix?

I have a feature request that would make navigating to systems found with INARA much easier in VR.  Could we have a 'copy to clipboard'-button next to system names in INARA, similar to what we have in EDDB (e.g. https://eddb.io/system/17072 )?  That way VR users can copy the system name in INARA (using a joystick controlled point and click cursor in VR) and paste it in the galaxy map (using voice control) to plot a route to it, all without leaving the cockpit (i.e. take off the VR headset).

There is a minor update with some new stuff and changes:
  • Added an option to add installations to the station list of any star system, including some adjustments how are stations in the star system details displayed. If do I have missed some installation type and it's not possible to set it, please let me know.
  • Based on your feedback, there was changed how friends from the game are handled on the API/journal updates. Now all the in-game friends are put into a separate list and you can further send them a friend request on Inara, if do you wish to. In other words, this list is completely unrelated to your actual friends on Inara and you shouldn't receive any bothering requests anymore. The previous setting for the Inara API key was removed (as it's not necessary).
  • Other minor tweaks.
Direct journal imports from Frontier's cAPI (for console and PC users) are coming later...

I was solving this earlier with another commander, unfortunately the ship locations were coming from cAPI that way. A possible solution may be to try to move the ships elsewhere and jump in/out of them, so their correct location will be reflected in cAPI. There is unfortunately nothing else I can do.

Yes, I think that I can add something there, at least to main star system pages.
