Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Whiplash 1983KorosovaAnyone know how long it usually takes to verify your account? My frontier link has said "verification pending" for weeks...
Did you just buy that "NO-KEY INSTALL" version of the Elite game from Steam during the last sale?
No (Long ~36 digit) Frontier Developments Licence Key-Code, then you have no registration or authorization of your pilot (or game) with FD. No registration with FD, then no Commander linkup with your Inara account.
This new "Product" Steam is pawning off does not support user third party data links.
Your only licence for the game is with STEAM, and not the author, Frontier Developments.
If you have logged more than 2 hrs of game time Steam will not issue a refund on the game. I tried that too.
I'm sure it's just an oversight and neither Steam or FD imagined this new licencing arrangement would be a problem for their customers and are working hard to come up with a fix soon right?.
No, I mean the frontier link to inara :p
But strangely, it's just fixed within the last hour.

I migrated from console to PC during the last Steam sale, when I purchased ED. Previously, my console ACCT was linked properly and since making the switch I have not had any updates to my PC as there have been ongoing issues with Steam/Frontier and the connectivity, convenience was a large reason I switched.
Long story short, and to possibly avoid any further third-party issues, is it possible to just buy another copy (license) of ED (Horizons, etc) and continue to use my current CMDR profile with Frontier instead, thus bypassing Steam? Isn't Steam just a storefront, er, "middle-man" anyways?

Your commander is registered with Frontier using the Email address you chose and the password you chose for that account. I would hope you could use that information to log your pilot into any installation. But maybe not. I don't see where you can log out of one and into another. Looks like one purchase per pilot. If you toss the purchase you'll probably have to toss the pilot.
@ Artie
I see the "Import Frontier Data" link on my Commander page but it only shows Frontier, Steam, Xbox, Playstation.
I don't see where to "Manually" post a journal file (when the data links can not be used).
Where do I manually "Drop" my log file?
-or-
Has the manual option been removed?

There is possible to buy the game directly from Frontier store, which has no issue with the http 302 error (as the Steam account is not involved). I am not sure about the possible game account/commander migration, though, as it's a Frontier thing and I am not sure about their policies/possibilities.

The option is still present, there is a link in the FAQ. It's not very prominent by purpose, as I consider it as a "last instance" when everything else fails (Frontier import, Inara API updates). I prefer to get the verified data directly from Frontier servers, as it provides more output for the commander, too (medals, rankings, etc.)

ArtieKell AdairHi all,
on the "Member Activity Overview" it would be great to be able to chose the time frame the data is collect from. This way one could filter down to 1 day and see how many missions for completed so one would know when the INF cap would be reached.
I will add something there, adding to my ToDo.
TheDementedPoet@artie your update to Inara for the console side is hands down amazing and is having me come back more often and also I wanna thank you for helping bring the console player the same, if not close to the same features the pc side has.
I do want ask if the journal imports might be made into an automatic thing as long as Inara is open running as we play, either in the near future or sometime in the future.
I'll still be using Inara either way, but being honest, I'm a lazy cmdr and like it when things auto update while I'm playing lol
At the moment, there are weekly auto-updates, maybe I will adjust that to daily auto-update over time, but definitely there won't be any real-time updates. I really do not want to download and parse whole journal for the actual day over and over in a few minutes
By chance how/where do I set up the weekly auto update? (if available currently)

Hello @Artie.
I noticed that the Logbooks section on the main page / news changed behavior:
- instead of filing new entries on top, as I remember it, new entries are now sorted in at the start of the lower list section without the preview / picture.
Given our behavior these days - i.e., only the new is noticed, but not if one has to scroll to see it - that left me thinking that there were no new entries for two days or so. Now I know better, but this still renders new logbooks kind of invisible, which is a shame.
Hope the old behavior comes back: newest on top.
---
Details: checked in Chrome and Firefox with forced re-load, but as new stuff did show up lower, I did not expect any difference, and it made none.

In the new Thargoid War section, the "Your Statistics" remains at all zero for me, even after many scouts and two cyclops. Also, my Cmdr never shows in the "Commanders in the Fight" section of https://inara.cz/galaxy-war-conflict/1/27495/
I'm using EDMarketConnector 3.4.2.0 with Canonn plugin 2.3.2
Just wanted to pass this along, since you just launched that section.
Thanks!
Edit 8/25:
As @Artie explained, this data only comes from Frontier to ensure it's not tampered with. On my CMDR Overview page in Inara, I clicked on "Import Frontier Data", and that brought my data in.

Just perform a single update by clicking the Import Frontier data button and when performed, it will start the auto-updates as well. I will add some indicator there to make it more clear.
Mike ProbablyEDIT: resolved, behavior is back to expected.

It's working as expected - the logbooks with perex are those featured, the list below is all the rest. So there may happen the featured logbooks are older than some of the records in the list below.

Yes, the Thargoid kills data are taken just from the Import Frontier data, it means just from the journals downloaded from the Frontier servers, as mentioned there. Partly because it's used for the medals (so I need to have unaltered data), partly because there may be some optional rankings introduced later (which will require, once again, the unaltered data). So any updates that can be forged easily (manual journal imports, API updates) are not used there.

Nice to know but... where is the FAQ? I'm so dumb I can't find it...

I am facing error 302, game bought on Steam in July 2019.
I contacted Frontier and here is their answer:
<<As all purchases made through Steam since the end of April are keyless, all of your product access information is held only by Steam and not on your Frontier account.
This means that when any tool such as Inara attempts to query your account, it cannot find your license info
We're aware that this issue exists though and have plans to fix it in our next major update, coming next month.
We apologise most sincerely for the inconvenience caused in the meantime.>>

Right in the Import Frontier data pop-up window/widget.

BazingaSmithThe site seems unusually slow atm (other sites work fine for me and bandwidth is not an issue)
Are there any know problems currently?
Looking at the time you posted, and rolling back an hour or so for your event, that puts it about -0- zero hour UTC, which is just about the time the servers in CZ (Inara's home country) seem to go offline for about half an hour for maintenance every day. Watch for the pattern.

However, think it's more of an ISP issue. As using mobile ISP , but using home ISP it slows down (but only when using Inara)
Now to convince ISP they have network issues
Cheers for the reply Cmdr
