Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

TacticusWould it be possible for the site team to add different platform pilot assassination attempts, because I can’t tell if the 3 murder attempts are on pc, PS4 or Xbox
Hmmm, yes, I think that I can something there.
Happy DazeHi Artie,
We’d like to add the link to Join Our Squadron inline with our “requirements” text. Is this possible? It’s a box on the page, and I haven’t been able to link to it.
I am not sure how it is meant exactly? Like an inline button that can be added to the discussion post?
Mos SuperumFormer developer here and product owner for an Azure / .NET development team. Just wanted to share that Inara.cz is a fantastic website and what y'all have done with the API / features from the EDDN is awesome. I have started using ED Market Connector and love the quick updates.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers!

Thank you!
TeallArtie,
It seems a bug with value of one of my ship. Keelback 13,400 Cr. Lol, even my Sidey's is 2,077,675 Cr.
This is not critical at all, I'm just informing you.
p.s. I know Keelback is undervalued, but not in a such way =)
I am not sure where the Keelback values came from, but Sidey seems to be on par with your journal records. If something is wrong, it's wrong in there and outside my control.
Chulainn CorealisBug with LHS 3836. Our PMF just took Olsen Bastion, but for some reason, INARA has it listed as owned by Social LHS 531 Democrats
As others said, please change that manually when necessary.
Podge-PoiHI All,
ok yes getting older ...everyday SOooooooo any chance in PS4 having an option to change the colour of text, i am finding it difficult to read and i am sure others must be as well.
If that's meant for the game, please head to the official Elite forums instead, it will be a better place for such feedback.
100.RUBApologies if I asked this already, but are there any plans to implement thargoid kill tracking? Goids do leave easily identifiable events in the journal upon kill and variants can be identified by the bond value. That would make inara the place for AX community across all platforms, since all other kill tracking tools don't work on consoles.
Just curious - is there any particular reason (aside of personal kill count tracking) for that?
BrianofishHi Artie,
first of all - thank you for the incredible work that is this site!
Just saw a super minor little glitch that might be fun to investigate and fix - that daily/weekly/andsoon credit balance, just after importing data a few minutes ago, shows me this for the last 24 hour thing:
LAST CHANGE +510,171
TIME RANGE 0 minutes
CR PER HOUR +918,307,800
Of course with that miscalculation, the future prediction is also way off.
Thanks, it probably went mad with a sudden change in credits in a very short period of time, I will take a look on that.

IirlyHello all. I'm hoping someone can help, but I'm sure its similar to the steam issue. I got this game as a gift about a month ago, Enjoying the heck out of it but I cannot link my info to Inara at all. I tried with steam and was unable to, so I tried with Frontier directly as it is another option. Both options throw the same errors. I dunno if any other new people are having such issues with both sites. Am I correct in thinking that it's a Frontier issue and they know about it? Or is the being unable to connect with Frontier directly a new issue? Help?
MegninI found this on this page: https://inara.cz/inara-api/
I encountered the same issue you describe. You are correct it's a known issue that Frontier has not resolved yet. It apparently affects people who got the game on steam recently.
I downloaded, installed, and ran the "E:D Market Connector" and it updated my Inara page. It was pretty simple.
Ansymo67For the 302 error. When will this be fixed? I haven't been able to import any stats since July 17th. I use a PS4.
Yes, currently the issue is originating in Frontier's CAPI endpoint not being available for some (usually later Steam) players and as such there is not possible to access their data this way. Frontier is aware of that. However, I have an idea from some workaround that may help to alleviate this problem a little bit, although it may not work for everybody and it will have various side effects (like fleet not being synced entirely or Inara account link being performed late (depending on the journals present)). I would like to have it online next week or sooner. For a "proper" fix we must wait until Frontier resolve this.

AX community in general has been looking for a way to keep kill tallies for a long time. Some do it to show off their skill and experience. Others (like me) have to coordinate global defense efforts and do research into the underlying mechanics. At this point we've done all we can do on our end and FDev doesn't seem to be willing to help us better understand what is going on. We need a way to see the AX activity in targeted systems (specifically Infested systems) to gauge our progress, as god knows FDev is not giving us any feedback. So far several attempts were made (including a Canonn EDMC plugin), but all of them only work on PC. I understand that historical data may be lost forever, but even starting tracking kills right now will give us much-needed insight, and would give us a reason to promote Inara among AXI members, because currently it does not offer anything to AX commanders.
I can go on about our needs in more details, if required.

An Exceptional Reward
Greetings Commanders,
We here at the Pilots Federation are particularly impressed by news of your performance in the Witchhead Nebula, in the face of the Thargoid threat. As an exceptional reward for this effort, the Alliance has established a fledgling colony in Witch Head Sector LC-V c2-10. A planetary port called ‘Jackrock Outpost’ on Witch Head Sector LC-V c2-10 A 1 is now available, and equipped with a shipyard, capable of ship transfers.
Thargoids are still present in the area, so please do head out there and do your part!
(Please restart your game client for this port to appear.)

Edit: Alright, it seems that it doesn't solve the problem entirely and I am out of options, as there is nothing on my side I can do. What a shame, I was hoping it will have a bigger impact.

ArtieOh, yes, please elaborate more what are the exact AXI needs, as it helps to shape the idea what may be useful. There is not so complicated to track thargoid kills from the journals as you mentioned, but I am not very willing to invest time into just some simple kill count tracking. However, I have some ideas in my notes how it may be further utilized (at least to substitute thargoid activity systems that are currently not being reported in the journals by the faction states although it should, apparently by some design decision). So better insight from players that are actually involved in thargoid-related activities will be helpful.
AX community needs kill tracking for multiple purposes:
- To have any chance to clear Infestations in their current state. Until FDev fixes it and gives us reasonable feedback, stations will continue to burn because we have no idea what exactly and how much we need to do.
- To showcase individual achievements. This is obvious, people like to brag.
- To track squadron activity and reward members who go above and beyond others. FDev gives us nothing in this area, not even a "last seen online" info. We would like to have an in-squadron leaderboard.
- To crack down on cheating. We take this very seriously and there already were some scandals related to this. We specifically want to monitor for cheating in our ranks, for which a in-squadron leaderboard will also some in handy.
Ideally we would like to have an individual player kill log, a global leaderboard and an in-squadron leaderboard. A duplicate of in-game leaderboard would be convenient, but not necessary. Leaderboards and logs should detail types of thargoids killed (easy to determine based on the reward value) - it would provide a wealth of information and help find inconsistencies.

Fabricating log entrances of "killing" is even easier than cheating. How can you count on this ladder if I can (for example) just upload my fabricated logs with 100 Hydra kills?
Also, what to do if I already honestly killed several dozens of thargs? Upload all my logs one-by-one since last year?
I want you understand me right -- it's good to have more info about thargoid kills, but it's up to technical side of the realisation. And it sucks that FDev goes so lazy.

I have not delved deep into ED backend, which is why I ask Artie about feasibility of this. We can also push for FDev to actually include this data in cAPI in the next update, but they are more likely to listen to EDCD than me. I myself have killed more thargoids than I care to remember, but I am ok with losing historical data if it means we have stats available at all. There is no 100% proof way of avoiding cheating. It takes building a community with certain values. If someone jumps out of nowhere to dominate the leaderboard the whole AX community will be looking very closely, as we know exactly how fast it is possible to kill goids.

Are there more or less fixed kill counts that are needed to revert the incursion/infestation or it scales dynamically based on the star system properties (like population, number of stations and so on)? I am afraid that infestation and incursions states not being reported in the journal is by design (although I think it will make no harm to has it there). Inara is prepared for that, but as no data are coming in...

I suppose a cheating in an area of how many thargoids were killed, right?

A duplicate of the in-game leaderboard is not possible, as there is currently no way how to get the leaderboard numbers/positions. Any Inara-based leaderboard/overview can be made just from the updates made directly via Inara (Frontier Data Import), to prevent any data alteration (as Teall mentioned) and it may not reflect the in-game leaderboard (in fact, may be very different than the in-game leaderboard and I see no point to make something that is already in the game, but provides different results. At least in this very exact form). Also, there is not possible to get "lifetime" values (as the old journals aren't available) and the only feasible option seems to be their inclusion into the in-game commander's stats (which depends on Frontier).
The logs can be made just in a range of daily summaries (for example, a commander ABC killed X scouts and Y interceptors at given day). A detailed log for each kill is not possible because as I have played with some transactions logs already, it generates millions of records very quickly (and has various related problems). There is usually not so urgently needed to go into such details anyway.

That's the problem - we have no idea. We tried to use tools like Cannon EDMC plugin to record kills, but it obviously only works on PC so we saw very inconsistent results. We don't even know if it is the total kills or total bond value that makes a difference. There have been no success in estimating defense thresholds so any claims that it is based on population or such are pure rumors. There are some very dedicated AX groups on consoles and we need to include them into the equation.
I have no idea why Incursions are not reported in the journal, since they can be clearly seen on the galmap, have a filter like any other state and even have a dedicated galnet report. I would chuck it up to FDev usual lazyness/forgetfulness, and think that asking them would solve the issue.
Infestations on the other hand are in a weird place right now. They were quite broken since 3.3 (https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/176) so we pretty much gave up hope of defending anything until they are fixed. We might work with what we have, assuming we know any sort of target number, otherwise I cant justify asking people to waste their time for nothing. I guess FDev understands that as well, since last two weeks they just disabled the whole Eagle Eye system. Goids also skipped the Infestation stage in Witch Head and went straight into Incursions. I guess we will have to see what will come of it.
Artie

Including that, yes. We award players with ranks based on their kills so having a way to check if they really did kill a specified thargoid at that time would be good, although not critical. What worries me more are AX leaderboards, as we already had an unconfirmed case of cheating. Apparently a single guy was able to push a squadron of ~15 people, none of which did any AX, to the second place, right behind us, a squadron of 150 at the time. After some forum drama that squadron fell of the face of the earth and never appeared on the leaderboards since. I (un)fortunately don't know much more than that, but it made me quite paranoid.
Regarding the level of detail, for each kill we only need the timestamp, type of goid killed, the system, and bond awarded. If this is not possible we would at least need a number of kills of each type made during the week (between server maintenance downtimes), and the total number of bonds during the same time. This statistic for each of the targeted systems, at least during the period they were targeted, would allow us to estimate defense thresholds.
Alternatively, is it possible to track where combat bonds are cashed in?

Hey Artie,
I love organizing my stuff via inara and I thought about this issue for months if not years now. The feature to bookmark "favorite" star systems, stations and minor factions is really handy, but it's slowly getting a bit crowded there. For example, I usually bookmark all the systems of my minor faction, lore-wise important systems, systems for currently great trade routes - or in a nutshell, any system of interest for me. It'd be awesome to be able to sub-categorize or simply sort the "favorite" blocks to stay on top of things.
I'm aware that it's just a minor issue, but I felt like I should give it a try and maybe you like the idea, too.
Cheers, and as always: Thanks for the great site/tool!
