Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

James HussarGiven recent discussion in "Genera", would Inara benefit from an "off-topic/Anarchy System" forum, where no topic would be, well, off topic, and where the vitriol could flow unimpeded (short of porn ,doxing, crime and direct threats)?
I realize it could be a horrible can of worms, but might it help give the undesirable generally topics, yet wanted by the few, a place to exist? I suppose the PM system can absorb this desire, but it is not sequential and less readable by a group of users.
I, for one, would avoid this area, but if it would help others vent their spleens without involving everyone, would it be useful?
I was going to propose something similar, under the name "Kindergarden" or "Slaughterhouse"...
Maybe "Brats bratting room" could be good too...
ShayaMerciful gods. General turned into a troll pit, so your fix is to suggest an official troll pit?
Yes! It's a great idea instead: as soon as bratting is legalized everybody will lose interest in it-
EDIT: Sorry Artie, I read your reply only after I post this. Fully agree with your point.

it is an engineering base, at least I am pretty sure. But it is showing up as a outpost for a minor faction, Red Squadron in Luyten's star.

KaizimmIs there any way to "set" your home station or home system on your Inara profile? It's mostly a cosmetic feature but I think it would be nice.
I believe this post was a little bit overshadowed. I guess this is more of a suggestion than a question, because I have since found out that there is no such feature (or if there is, it's darn well-hidden).

No idea how the station went there (didn't check), but it's apparently an incorrect information as thus it was removed. Thank you for the report.

Ah, I thought it was responded already. The home system/place of birth is a part of the commander's biography and I have currently no plans to add something extra for "more dynamic" changes (as it's not used anywhere). But it may change later.

Well, I have no problem with that, I pretty much RP a character whose "home system" is the same place he was born.
But I can imagine there are others whose current home system or station is not the same as their place of birth

ArtieDarthjazzhandsHey Artie
The new bulletin board page is awesome. I love how non-linear the layout is designed so nothing feels buried.
I have a suggestion for a future upgrade to the page.
Make a different tab for every ad category and allow one ad per category.
Under the squadron promotions category/tab I can promote my squadron.
If I have an event this weekend, I can Post that under the events tab
So on and so forth
Does that make sense?
Great work as always. The site is a wonderful resource
Thanks
DJ
Yeah, makes sense, I have a few other improvements on my mind, too. But I wanted to start with a "minimal viable" version first, to see how it will be used.
Exxxcellent!
Yeah I figured “minimal viable” was your tactic. It’s a really nice improvement over the old squad promo page. Looking forward to see what you do next.
Thanks
DJ

So for example have a link "view bulletin" on the news page like with the community-goals, and maybe arrange the galaxy-page a bit differently, so that the bulletin is more prominent. Like this for example:
(the logs are also on the news-page, so are prominent enough imo)

Ellen SoloeI also am a fan of the bulletin. What I would like to see improved, is a more prominent placement.

Thanks for the mockup, it may be good to make it this way. I will think about it...
