Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Question about the distribution of CMDRs wealth. With the upcoming Fleet Carriers introduction and with FDev saying the price of fleet carriers will be 5B CR... I'd really like to see a histogram of CMDR net worth. I.e. something like:

Credits. | count(CMDRs)
0 - 100M | 1045
100M - 200M | 2301
200M - 300M | 4815
300M - 400M |1203
400M - 500M | 674
etc...

It might be tough to pick the "bins" for the total net worth... But it'd be really interesting to see just how many CMDRs have the 5B in liquid credits (or total net worth) to be able to buy a fleet carrier at launch.

Artie misusing the feature (like when somebody will form a small squadron, makes a ton of "fake" medals just to brag and show it in his profile).

We have a saying, Artie. "You show me something idiot-proof, and I'll find you a better idiot"

Yep, that's why I will rather limit that just to squadron pages, so it will be shown just on the individual squadron page as a medal list and its recipients than complicate things to myself (and squadrons) with a huge amount of restrictions.

Question about the credit balance in the linked post. Is that liquid credits or total net assets (i.e CR + Ships + Stored modules)?

DarthjazzhandsGreetings Artie,
Thank you for all of the work you’ve done. The site is a wonderful resource for us.

I have an idea that might be helpful for squadron officers. I’d like to offer medals, ribbons, and trophies in recognition of achievements... Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, trophy for best banana wine, Hutton Mug trophy, Mission Ribbons .... you get the idea. These would appear on the commander page.

It would be awesome if he medal, ribbon, and trophy titles and images were completely customizable.

This would help us officers recognize achievements and offer rewards for missions, good behavior, officially sanctioned bad behavior, etc etc

Let me know your thoughts
DJ

Yeah, I have that on ToDo and made some first steps already, but no ETA so far. So until that it's in the hands of each squadron and their custom individual awards. It will be probably purely a squadron thing anyway, I very likely won't be displaying that on the CMDR profile pages outside the squadron. It's not the definitive decision yet, but I need to find a balance between restricting the medal usage (which is quite difficult), providing the freedom to squadrons and misusing the feature (like when somebody will form a small squadron, makes a ton of "fake" medals just to brag and show it in his profile).

Good points. I hadn’t thought of that.
Thanks
DJ

It's the actual credit balance (liquid credits, credits that can be spent immediately), without any other assets.

Hi there,

Love the site! Such a wonderful resource. Props for the fantastic work.

Looking for a little help. My commander information suddenly stopped updating and now gives an error message.  I went into the settings tab to troubleshoot and I see that my platform is listed incorrectly as PC, I actually play on PS4.

Do you think that these issues are related? Also any advice on how to re-link my inara account to my Frontier account?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hello,
it's definitely related. It seems something changed on the Frontier's backend for your account. Please try to connect your accounts again, I suppose it should help (you can reset the link in the Settings>Commander settings).

Commodities prices are now effected by what you are carrying on your ship and the demand of that item in the station you are at.

Carry 100 tons of a item and a station want 10 tons, you get a bad price. Carry 10 tons and get a better price, carry 1 ton and you get the top price.

As you can imagine, most ships providing data to Inara won't be carrying that one item you are looking to sell, so the chances are the data in Inara is the vanilla top-price.

Nothing Inara can do about it, FDev did a bad job of implementing the change.

Look at the best prices, and sell at a station that is offering a high price AND has a high demand, that way you will be offered the better deal. Sometimes the best price you can get isn't the best price someone in a Sidewinder can get.

You put 1.7 mil as max sell for ltd, the best station I could find at the time was 1.3 what's the point of looking at your site if you only update when people get screwed out of 3hrs work to find out you'll  update things after they've  already sold
If it was frontier how, why did you broadcast the price if you didn't know the station?
04 Apr 2020, 10:25am
Exactly as Aunty wrote - I get the prices, but I don't know under what conditions were generated/sent and due the latest game mechanics, it can be altered by your cargo amount anyway. Nothing I can do about that, I show exactly what I get from the game (through other 3rd party tools).

As I was about to dock checked the prices. 1.7 was best but no I repeat no station to match, there is now but only after I said something. Why do you think I said anything, I'm not stupid I check before I sell what pisses me off is it was stated 1.7 max sell for ltd but t here was no station listed that matched that price like I said update your station info before you tell everyone. I got screwed

Oh, I trust you that you saw that price. And I am also certain that price was on the station(s) in the game at the time of update. But as some markets with some commodities are VERY volatile at the moment, the prices may change very frequently. Please also see the explanation in the general discussion.
