Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258
Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Similarly, the inactive small squadrons (where no member is active on Inara for a several months) may be auto-disbanded, to prevent name occupying by inactive squadron made just by a few or single person.
@Artie Thanks for the reply, that all makes sense. Although I'm concerned by your inference that pics of my asp in front of things, aren't so vitally important that they're retained for galactic posterity!

Tchil Tb'illYes, as mentioned on the gallery page, the images may be archived and removed over time (as there is a ton of images in the gallery, it's a necessary step). Those used in logbooks or generally liked will stay though, that's why a general recommendation is to upload the best images possible.

Echoing Artie's comment, I don't think that it's a matter of what's important so much as encouraging the best quality of screenshots due to the limited space in which the sheer number may be stored.
Those with a higher number of "shiny" clicks seem to be a qualifier for retention in the Gallery, thus it's more the community that decides, & less so for Artie.
Surely, you have the means to maintain yours in your own storage, a file on a drive, etc?

I joined a squadron, in game, five days ago. Federal Reclamation Co, https://inara.cz/squadron/802/
On the Overview my squadron still shows as independent and on the Squadrons page 'My squadron' is greyed out.
I did also click the 'join squadron' button on inara after a day or two to see if that would help.
Is it a bug ? Or am I missing something ?
Thanks for the great site.

first of all thank you for the immense work you do with inara.cz, it is a great site and a fundamental companion app.
I am the manager of a squadron, and I use inara to manage and control the activities of the squadron members, but for some information I need to use other sites or other methods. The information I would need would be the sale of bounty / bond (the amount of credits sold, to which faction and at which station) and also the sale of commodities (amount of commodities or profit and at which station).
The sales station is especially important to understand which faction they sold to.
Another cool option would be the ability to customize grades, so you can give high grades without the requirement for minimum members.
Thanks for all

Ingame squadrons and Inara squadrons are fully independent, you'll have to apply to join the squadron on Inara as well if they have a presence here.

Joining squadrons in-game and in Inara are two separate things. You need the the squadron leader to accept you in Inara to show on the site.
Try contacting XeroState and asking them what is holding things up.

OK I'll do that. Thanks for the clarification.

First is "Diplomat" based upon how many Superpowers you are allied with and how many factions you are allied with.
Second is "Engineer" based upon how many Engineers you are using, what level of access you have to them (which will reflect how many you are using) and how much Engineering of modules you are doing.
Third is "Tourist" based upon how many tourist locations you have visited and scanned.
Fourth is "Scientist" which is based upon the amount of Discoveries you have in your Codex.
Fifth is "Collector" which is based upon the amount of materials you have on hand.
These should not be utilized to base a lot of ranking points on. Rather, they will allow us to see what style of play others have, so that it is easier to find individuals with similar style of play. Also, some would have a tendency to fluctuate. They should be based upon the highest level attained.
Don't know if you have all the access to the data needed for this, of course, and I suspect this would require a bit of modification to the programming, which would require time to implement. It is a suggestion that might not be accepted simply because the time burden is too great, and I can understand that completely. However, I do think that it would be enhancing.
Don't know if they should be in the ribbons bar, like "The Inarian" would be, but that seems to be the most logical place for most of these, IMHO.

Yeah, I know there is a demand for such functionality and it's certainly on my list. It's not so simple (as it needs to be handled with the privacy settings, provide information about what commanders are or are not included due this and also keep the data size on the leash, plus possible related performance drawbacks that needs to be tested first), but not unrealistic. I may take a look on that later. The squadron ranks may be adjusted after Odyssey (I am also playing with the idea to provide additional/alternate ranks for ground units, but let's see about that).
ClearbrookHey there guys. I would like to suggest a couple of different categories that we are ranked on.
First is "Diplomat" based upon how many Superpowers you are allied with and how many factions you are allied with.
Second is "Engineer" based upon how many Engineers you are using, what level of access you have to them (which will reflect how many you are using) and how much Engineering of modules you are doing.

Thanks for the suggestion!
The problematic around awards and stats is a little bit more complex. The current "setup" is that badges are only for stuff related to Inara and medals are for the long-term stuff related to the game (it requires some effort even to get the medal's first tier). The medals are further limited by the in-game stats availability (not all numbers I would like to have are actually in the game stats/journals, as seen on the Xeno-hunter medal where I need to track the individual Thargoid kills one by one, because of lack of the respective stats in the journal. I want to avoid such things as much as possible (because it simply sucks for players). Also, any stat/number used there should ideally just increase and never decrease (not exactly a rule, but it's more straightforward and clear to players).
So, any new medals (badges are out of this, to keep things consistent) should ideally fit into these limits. Your suggestions are nice, but have some technical problems (no overall numbers are known for Tourist, Scientist and Diplomat). Some are relatively easy to achieve (Collector and Engineer), but aren't exactly on par with the other medals "difficulty". I was playing with an idea of the engineering medal some time ago, related to the engineers unlocked, maxed, the number of upgrades generated, etc. (those numbers are easy to get), to have at least some low-tier medal, but I am still not sure about that. Partly because there is not enough engineers (may change after Odyssey) and partly it may motivate players to generate useless module modifications and tossing them away, just to rank up the medal. I do not consider this exactly as a healthy principle. But otherwise - yes, this is a candidate that may appear later on.

Ilikepizza1275Hello. I would like to suggest a change to the crafting lists. As an Xbox CMDR, I cannot use tools like EDEngineer so I rely on Inara for engineering materials gathering, but when I put in my desired blueprints and experimental effects, and it calculates what materials I need to fully make that blueprint, it calculates that list of materials as if that was the only blueprint you were going to craft, but that doesn't work when trying to engineer multiple modules on a ship where some blueprints require the same material. For example, if two different blueprints both require conductive ceramics, and I don't have enough to make either blueprint, It will only tell me how many I need to get to craft one blueprint, so say I'm nine short of what I need, It would show that I need nine conductive ceramics under each blueprint, but that is only enough to craft one blueprint. It would be nice if there was some sort of button that you could click to get a shopping list like EDEngineer, but because you can import data from console to Inara, It would work with console, where EDEngineer does not. I think this would be a very nice improvement to the crafting section instead of having to go through the list and make a shopping list manually.
Thanks,
CMDR ilikepizza1275
Hello, the best way to ensure you have everything for all blueprints is to check the missing components list. If nothing is left there, you should be good to go. The current calculation for the individual blueprints is for a reason it's more straightforward for cases when you do not want to craft all blueprints at once. Without that, you will constantly need to re-sort or re-prioritize blueprints in the list to mark blueprints that should have more priority with material distribution and it will be very annoying. So to keep things simply, the crafting lists show the requirements for the individual modules and if you want to craft everything, you can simply just check the missing components. I was however thinking about adding some groups (user-defined, so it can be used for grouping by ship, engineer, or whatever) and showing the material sums for that, too. Which may help with the different needs.
DanierosA small suggestion for the "nearest" search - adding a data age column for stations. I like to keep the markets around where I'm working updated (since the market page only considers those up to 180 days old), and this would make it easier to find where needs some updating.
Good idea, I will add something there for the market services.

any thoughts on what i may be missing as far as trouble shooting or is this purely a need for a ticket (the pessimistic side of me sees as going unnoticed by frontier) to see if its something that they have to fix on their end?
cheers mate

TheDementedPoet@Archie, being a console player that has recently been trying to resync their account. ive been getting an error code 401 when i got to authenticate my xbox information (cause who doesnt want to keep their logs up to date) and ive tried this on two different browsers, two different devices and even while im in game playing. all keep getting a 401 error.
any thoughts on what i may be missing as far as trouble shooting or is this purely a need for a ticket (the pessimistic side of me sees as going unnoticed by frontier) to see if its something that they have to fix on their end?

Hmmm, please try to re-link your accounts and ensure you are linking the correct Xbox account by using the Xbox platform/button. Although I see your OAuth profile received correctly, I am not entirely sure if it's either a correct account or there is a problem on Frontier's end, because it appears like on Frontier platform instead of Xbox and your cAPI/commander profile is completely empty and the journals are throwing the 400/401 error. So please check that first and if re-linking won't help, contacting Frontier's support is the only option. Different browsers or different devices won't help, as it's happening server-side. It's possible something odd is happening on Frontier's server, as you are not the first Xbox commander having a similar kind of problems lately.
