Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

I am almost afraid of what the feedback would be on mine.

9/10 would again read mundane coffee and shower scenes.

8/10 am reassured that leather jackets are still around in 3302.

9.5/10 have always disliked women with natural hair color.

10/10 would again read fanfic based on a game about space combat, exploration, or trading that doesn't have a single word about space combat, exploration, or trading.

1/10 Not a single panda in the commander's chair. Unsubscribed.

Haha rekt.

I'd also very much like a comment system too.

A follow function and a comment function are sorely needed, echoing the concerns above.

@GraXXor, re 'incentives': I write for myself, not for the approval of others, but maybe that's just me.

@Coragon, re 'trollfest': That's my concern about this - who's going to police it?

I'm sure we could be given to remove horrible comments. If we're going to hold back on a comment section because people might troll occasionally, then that is a tad silly.

I haven't really noticed many of the trollish type here anyway.

Pretty decent cloud over here, especially given how many of us there are.

Edit: I'm not even gonna edit that out. I wrote crowd but Siri just thinks she knows better. Makes me crazy.

I don't write for the approval of others either, but it would still be nice to hear what people have to say about a log, instead of throwing it out into the void and the only acknowledgement you get is a couple of shinies. I can't get feedback unless I post on the forums, or on the rare occasion I'd get a PM. I'd just like to hear from more people. It might make logging more communal.

I like to think the active Inara community is small enough that there wouldn't be any trolling. Even if there is, being able to delete comments on your own logs would be a pretty standard feature of comments.

Grrr.. Just typed in a long response to this thread only to be told that I had to log in to post... I logged in with the provided form and the post was gone!!!!
MOre frustrating than not having a post system is a system that swallows finished posts without a chance at recovery.

It only took me three swallowed posts to convince my brain to tick into the "remember me" option on the login screen.
Who said being a licenced federation pilot is an easy thing?

I honestly don't see any downside from allowing a feedback/comment section on the logs, so long as the author could police the comments themselves. INARA seems to be a decent enough community that we'd probably avoid a lot of the trolling/hatespeech that seems to pop up on the subreddit.

Worth looking in to, anyway.

About comments to logbooks and similar stuff - it is definitely on the ToDo list with a high priority. It reminds me I should update the list on the right side here...

As mentioned, "remember me" option helps especially when you are using Inara on more devices. In any case, I have some plans to keep some inputs like in threads throughout the browser history, so going back should keep it then...

Hey, I don't know how easy it would be but in the search function of the map would there be any way to create a search for "nearest alliance/imperial/Federation" station?  I find that I'm always racking up bounties for all three when in independent systems and would love to cash in a few bounties but end up taking unnecessary risks by not doing so because I am unsure how far I am from them. Cheers.

Ozram: Well, actually, it is there already. But as it is just an experimental feature and I want to build also other stuff around it (which is in progress), I was not mentioning it yet. But, you can type just "federation" or "empire" or "alliance" (which are shortcuts for "fed/emp/alliance star systems nearby" ) there and it will find the systems near your current position. Eventually, you can specify a target and type for example "empire near anlave", which finds all imperial star systems near Anlave.
Or, if you are using a shortcuts bar, you can place a Nearest tab from Galaxy section there.

Like I said, we can't shoot down an idea because there might be trolling. If everyone thought like that then nowhere would have any form of comment/feedback. There will probably be the occasional troll, but that is just the nature of the internet.

Edit: Apparently I responded to something a page back. Anyway thank you Mr. Artie for this.
