Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hello Artie,

I hope you're doing well and having a good weekend.

I'd like to make an INARA feature request for the gallery please.

Quite often, I've seen some users upload lots of pictures which seem to cover a lot of the screenshot they've taken, rather than unique vistas. Of course, they're free to do that but it often pushes back more unique ones that most people upload.

If it wouldn't be too difficult to implement, I'd like to suggest consecutive pictures are grouped together, which would still allow some people to upload many at a time and also allow other commanders images to be easily seen. For multiple images, they could be grouped together in the same size box, with smaller images inside, allowing users to click on the image as normal and vote for them as they please.

Hope that sounds like a good idea. Thank you and all the best,
Evo

Ditto. I've seen at least, 1 instance where someone posted >~2 whole pages of consecutive screenshots.

It was my understanding, after reading the description, that Gallery was meant more for 'showcase' quality, not as a repository for every screenshot in one's repertoire; perhaps the challenge would be to draw that fine line...

Anyway, I make it a point to only post those of notable quality or interest. I guess, I shouldn't expect the same tastes or standards from others.

Perhaps, some kind of 'frequency throttle', or a per-day limit?

Yeah, exactly. Most of us upload more special ones but there's always the rare exception (but still a few times a day) when some will upload large batches which must all add to the server load as well as the points we discussed.

That sounds like a perfect solution and I guess it'd be much easier to code as well

Of that, I can't say. I have absitively no knowledge of such things, so I leave it for Artie to decide; regardless, Artie does all of this & I for one, can't go asking.

I'm quite glad that Inara is here at all, & welcome whatever benefits the resource offers. For free, I might add.

I do think, however, that having some kind of daily limit might tend to encourage ones posting screenshots, to therefore choose those more notable in quality.

Any images uploaded to our personal Cmdr galleries automatically published on the public Gallery page. My guess is that some Cmdrs who are uploading images for their own account may not realize they are filling the public gallery page.

That I didn't know. I'd think, they'd be separate, & the latter would have been done manually.

Hey

Just go a vulture and when I went to the Livery to see what kits and colors are available. There were none. Is there something on their end or would it be mine for some reason.

A more hierarchical view of the gallery would be lovely. Maybe when users post multiple images in a short time, this could be shown as a "stack" of pictures - where you can click through to see the rest? Though, you would have to go looking for the remarkable image, if that one doesn't happen to be at the top of the pile.

I would prefer not to restrict the ability to post multiple images. I rarely post images, but on the rare occasion that I do, I might want to post just one more than the limit, and that would be irritating. Maybe a toggle when uploading each image, to explicitly make it viewable in the gallery? Something that isn't on by default, that you have to select manually every time. You could still have users saturate the gallery with their own pictures, but they would have to be intentional and deliberate about doing so.

o7 all.

I've been trying to work out how to update the datastores the EDDN APIs feed from - it seems like EDSM and Inara both seem to feed from EDDN, and EDSM sends updates back into it via the edsm.net console updater.

However I'm struggling to understand how the faction data gets updated (my faction is in the middle of a war so up-to-date intel & data is really critical). Is there a tool I can use (XB1 compatible via laptop / smartphone perhaps) which can push the data from E:D into EDDN? (and therefore onto Inara)

Thanks

Hello All,

I am trying to figure out how to add images to a journal/log book post.

If anyone has a guide or a link to a guide own using these posts, or even just a basic pointer on the language it uses, I'd be very grateful.

With thanks,

I use ShareX, It's Free on Steam.

Use it to upload an image you want to insert and then place the cursor where you want your chosen image to appear.

Use the Lil picture icon that reads Insert An Image when you hover on it. It will ask for a URL. On ShareX, right-click the image you uploaded and use the Copy URL option and past it to the text box on your INARA post that the Insert An Image icon opened.

Once ya get used to it, you'll not stop slapping up pictures to support your post.

Thanks for this, sorry i should have specified I am running of the PS4 platform, I am looking through journal posts that have the photos embedded in the entry, I am typing up the entries in a Mac operating system , so potentially i can find said software and use it... Thanks I will have a look when I compile the next entry

With Thanks,

Lambast's method will still work, you can just upload your photos to somewhere else (I use Imgur for that stuff).
