Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hello there, I have a problem with my INARA credit balance and was hoping someone here could help solving it

Since I bought my carrier, every time I use the update feature of the website or an auto-update happens, an invoice of +5b credits always appears in my credits' history. I've also noticed that it doesn't appear when my profile gets updates from EDMC, the only other third party tool I use at all times.

For the record, I've recently added to EDMC the FCMS plugin, as to send updates regarding my carrier to a Discord server

It's really just a matter of how annoying it is for me to have to constantly remove this false credit invoice, and I was recommended to ask for assistance here.

Many thanks in advance

Hi there. Sorry I don't know how to help.

Same thing happened to me when I recently bought my 700 millions Federal Corvette.

I had big missmatch on my Inara credit records. The price of the Vette was deducted twice and then added once again.

Eventually it solved after using several times the manual update feature of Inara.

I am using EDMC too.

Perhaps it was some crossed information between the two tools.

It's most likely connected to the problem where the game doesn't report the fleet carrier value into the assets, to the journal and also in the in-game stats (see the link to the official bug report in the sticky post). The EDMC is probably sending the value with the fleet carrier "artificially" counted towards the overall assets at some points and thus why the credits jumps up and down. I cannot affect that, as it's up to each up what it will send (and I also do not want to add the fleet carrier value with some workaround there, because to have it consistent it greatly limits when the credits may be updated (just the "here and now" values can be used). So the solution is either to limit such updates from the EDMC/its plugin or wait until Frontier finally fix the problem of fleet carriers not being counted towards the overall assets in the game.

Hello,
You could fill a gigantic hole in Elite Dangerous by including a notes column in the Hangar/Stored Modules page.
I have a bunch of engineered modules that I swap around but after a while I have no clue what ship they belong to.
A column to add a little note to each module would really help keep track of things. This has been requested on
ED forums many times for years. but they don't care.

Thx
o7

Hello,
unfortunately, it's a problem - there are no unique module IDs in the journal, so it's problematic to track specific modules. I often simply remove and add modules where necessary (loadout, storage) and it will cause such notes will simply disappear or will be on the different module of the same properties (class, rating, engineering), etc. as I don't reliably know which module is which (I cannot rely that the module movement history is always complete). So, until there will be unique module IDs available in the journal, adding notes there is not possible.

A short response for the population numbers (interesting discussion, guys, thanks for it!):
I want just to have a single number primarily displayed. The "resident supporters" will be unified to "supporting residents" in the next update as well. The number is not about jurisdictions, population on stations/planets, etc., just about theoretical faction supporters (in a meaning of NPC residents supporting/voting for the faction). The idea about the units is interesting, but I am afraid it needs to be more complex than that as the entire population cannot be spread just between the stations (or at least not all the time) - outposts are having a limited capacity, habitable planets should be counted in (also reflecting the size), etc. It may be interesting to make some population distribution and also reflect it on the bodies, like how many residents are on each planet, etc. but that certainly isn't a priority at the moment.

Maybe remove the population aspect from the equation and just make it a faction's "holdings" value.

Would be interesting to compare mega-corporations, expansionists, empires, and pirate groups. They all have a very different approach to the BGS.

o7 CMDRs is anyone having a thing where ships take a long time to update the new modified modules.
Example I modified my FSD on my anaconda 20 minutes ago and its still not updated even with EDDiscovery running and a manual data import

Hi Artie, I didn't participate in discussions for quite some time but I'd like to say that I love at least a few dozen updates/features that have been introduced since I last said "thank you". As always, your work is much appreciated!

Regarding the population numbers, well frankly, the only number I *really* care about is the official population of a system. Or in terms of factions, the population count of all the systems that are controlled by that faction. The reason is that it's the number BGS groups have been looking at for a few years now. I understand and appreciate the other approaches, they're actually pretty interesting if I think about it, but it's just not what folks are looking at. Since no ED tool out there offers such numbers, many groups developed their own tools or queries. I was quite happy when I saw the population count on inara, but then I realized that it's not the number I was hoping for. To hide the "overall number" in a tool tip probably is a solution for many, and the rest of us still have their tools.

While the discussion may seem silly or users kinda ungrateful at times, it's really just about creating the best tool for all of us. And if BGS groups can help themselves and nobody else cares about that "overall number", the feature will be perfect just the way it is. Either way, keep up the good work!

That's certainly an option, too. May be something to think about in the future.

Hello, it's still present - you can do that either on the tech broker page (mark it as favorite/unlocked) or via the crafting lists (when completing the list added).

You may need to relog in the game (or swap the ships) to have the full ship loadout written into the journal.

Ulon YuanshiIt seems my Thargoid kills are not being counted on Inara. I am using EDMC and EDD.
Do I need something else?

Please use the Import Frontier data feature for that - as the Thargoid kills are used also for rankings, I want to have all the kills verified without a possibility somebody may alter it. Also, be aware there are no lifetime values in the journals/in-game stats at the moment, so just the recent kills are counted in.

I only just noticed that I had to re-enable Frontier updates. Thank you for bringing that to my attention!

It seems I still have 0... I'll kill one soon to test, whether that fixed it. I hope there is no issue on Frontier's side...

I hope not, or at least I hope the older problem when some kills in the wing weren't properly registered in the journal was fixed by them already.

Oh, now i see...
I was searching for it under the Commander section and while i did add the Guardian unlocks by crafting lists (with the help of the last CG) i was not able to find them unlock listed.
It didnt crossed my mind to check under Data section.

Cheers and thank you

I saw this pointed out elsewhere. And I've been checking it on and off myself.

Was the method for calculating or gathering the traffic numbers changed at some point? Or has it always been this good and I never checked? Because lately it seems to be spot on to what is reported in game.

Is there anything we can do, like docking at the station, running EDDN reporters, or manually syncing our frontier accounts to keep this updated?

No major changes (I think that I have just slightly adjusted some modifiers a couple of months ago). But it's still just an estimate, so although it may be generally somehow correct, there may be star systems where it can be quite off. Updating your data on Inara will certainly help (doesn't matter if that's through direct imports or API, the estimate is based on the traffic of Inara commanders).
