Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

El_Guapo_GauchoHello All,

I am trying to figure out how to add images to a journal/log book post.

If anyone has a guide or a link to a guide own using these posts, or even just a basic pointer on the language it uses, I'd be very grateful.

With thanks,

I use ShareX, It's Free on Steam.

Use it to upload an image you want to insert and then place the cursor where you want your chosen image to appear.

Use the Lil picture icon that reads Insert An Image when you hover on it. It will ask for a URL. On ShareX, right-click the image you uploaded and use the Copy URL option and past it to the text box on your INARA post that the Insert An Image icon opened.

Once ya get used to it, you'll not stop slapping up pictures to support your post.

Thanks for this, sorry i should have specified I am running of the PS4 platform, I am looking through journal posts that have the photos embedded in the entry, I am typing up the entries in a Mac operating system , so potentially i can find said software and use it... Thanks I will have a look when I compile the next entry

With Thanks,

Esteban 07

Lambast's method will still work, you can just upload your photos to somewhere else (I use Imgur for that stuff).

Thanks I have had a look at ShareX (Windows only) and Lightshot (ditto) however both appear to be screen capture tools, storage as well? I suppose what I am asking for is a way to drop the images straight into the "text box" for the journal entry - within a Mac environment. I will try the Imgur route I think - I am trying to avoid linking to a seperate page, I want that beautiful seamlessness where it is all in the same journal entry and not in a seperate link. I did see a few journals that do this I may ask the writers directly

I am working on entry 2 as I fly through todays exploration data so I may have something up a little later, I have not done any RP before but sincearely enjoy writing, but for now my CMDR is just musing to himself while I get the hang of all the lore and stuff around here,

With thanks,

Esteban

About the gallery images listing - yep, the image grouping (when belonging to the same author) with an option to show all of them is a way to go. I have something in that regard on the list, but no ETA yet. Various "hard" limits, although are easier to do, won't work very well as it may limit "valid" postings, among other reasons.

KierenI would like to see a feature where registered players can op in to allow this site to track a players fleet carrier location. Site users could then use the find nearest carrier as an option. I think this would be especially useful for explorers out in the black who can find one for repairs etc. I think it should be op in just in case some commanders do no want to be apart of this. I'd like to hear your thoughts

Thanks

The fleet carriers listing will be based on the data generally collected through EDDN and journals, so it won't be opt-in. But, there may be added an option to opt-out later, when it will be necessary. It should also work for nearest service search, I just will need to make some adjustments for the star systems not in the database (when used as an search origin).

@Esteban,

As I understand it, Inara logbook entries don't support embedding an image directly; you have to have it uploaded somewhere, you embed the URL in the log entry using the "[img]" tags, and the picture appears in the finished document.  You don't need Imgur necessarily.  You could upload them here to Inara in your Gallery, and use that URL; however, for server space reasons permanent storage there isn't guaranteed.  Imgur keeps them permanently, as near as I can tell.

Good luck writing!  I have a story I wish I had time to write out.  Maybe this summer I'll get to it ...

Thanks Rotwhylr,

I had a few technical issues to go through - moving the images from PS4 to Internet (Twitter) Download to phone and then upload to Imagur.
Its a little fiddly and required new account set ups as I don't use either service but I think I have it down pat
Good to know difference between Inara gallery & imagur Gallery - obviously I will still post to Inara Gallery but that was the original photo link I was trying to use and for some reason it would not display for me. I went back to first entry and now linked to Imagur with success.

Anyhow, finalising second entry now - should be interesting thanks

I just chip away at it - I usually have my mobile on me so I make notes of ideas, sentences and paragraphs in my "notes" app on IOS - later transcribing to a word document on the laptop which synchronises the "notes" app - I am sometimes amazed how many things add up once I have a look at them - but it does mean finding time to sit and work through it which can be challenging - for this Journal I am giving myself three days between each entry of roughly 1000 words - we will see if I can maintain that

Best of luck. Sounds like you're very organised so that'll be a massive help o7

Hmmm ... I wonder if your Twitter image has a direct link that you could embed here instead of using Imgur?

Hi all,
I want to add stations to my favourite stations list.
I have two in the list and don't know how they were placed there.
I'd appreciate a pointer or two.
I have done a number of searches but nothing shows up.
I hope this is a place to ask as it is an oldish thread.

Go to any station page and there is a star button in the top right corner of the station details table/block.

Artie,

really, are we serious? The General/Game talk thread is becoming a chat room for everything but game talk.
I really like to read people discussions about tv shows, quantum physic, yesterday meals and stuff but scrolling through 10+ pages of it without a single "game related post" seems a bit too much.

I know it is just me, but...

;)

Yes please, censor and control the general chat.

We don't like people socialising and getting to know each other during a world crisis.

They may get a lil light relief from the tedium of not working or getting to work out and we can't have that. This is about Elite Dangerous damn it!

Actually, I think all the physics discussion was very related to Elite - it was about the game realism, what exactly game needed to bend from real physics, etc.
A few posts about the Star Trek were just a "nerd distraction" (which I liked, despite the fact it wasn't written in Klingon ) and were just a minor.

Nice how twisted your reply is, pal.

I'm not proposing to censor anyone. I like the small talk as Artie and everybody else does. I proposed to split that thread in two, several weeks ago, because the "gametalk" part is becoming difficult to find: few months ago, when I started the game, that very thread was a source of priceless knowledge for a newbie like me. In each page you could find tens of tips, advice, settings, routes suggestions and all this sort of stuff, with some chit-chat here and there. Now, if you ask a question it may take forever to get an answer because the chit-chat has "taken over" the thread. My proposal was to create a chat room where we can socialize as much as we can and another one dedicated to all the "in game" questions players need to get an answer for.
That's it.
No censor, no enforcement, no confinement, no control. You saw bad stuff where there ain't.

So, maybe the tedium is affecting you more than me, pal...

As the Master of the Dojo desires!

BTW, I like the FAQ page. I've seen it only now (please tell me it has been a recent add or I may have some serious problem here) and I think it may help the newbies a lot.

Thanks for your work, Artie.

It was added on May 2nd. Everyone can add a FAQ and its answer in the way posted so far.
