Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Private messages should be putting a "!" on your "Commander" tab, and when you click through, you should see the "!" by your "Private Message" option on the left. Being quoted or replied to in fora doesn't though.
Right, that works fine, but for those occasions where I'm not near my PC for an extended period of time, I was curious about having notifications delivered via email as well as showing up with the "!" as you describe.
Ah! I see... Yeah, a "push" to email that you've got a message. I get it. That would be a neat feature, agreed.

ZraouldukezI stll dont show up in the commodities area for some reason still cannot figure out or understand why, i have over 10,000 demand at 1.3mil and carriers buying for less show up and i do not, also get reports from players they cannot dock on some of these listed carriers and my docking is always open, would love to have extra traffic from showing up in comodities area. so just an FYI until i eventually show up ZOLTAN INTERGALACTIC (V2V-OHY) parked in COL SECTOR BH-K A38-5 will always buy LTDs at 1.3 Good Day Commanders o7
Hello, I don't see any commodities listed in your market data by checking your cAPI carrier details, that's why it's not displayed. Not sure what is wrong, but definitely not on Inara's end.

Not at the moment. I may add some "lazy" e-mail notifications later, for example when new private messages unchecked for a while. But I am not decided about it yet.

When links from Inara are dropped into things like discord they use <meta property="og:description" as the text to show in the associated link.
The problem is, every Inara link looks the same and you can't tell one from another to give context for the link to help you find the link in discord.
I'm assuming discord reads the header from the page and not the site as a whole (it might need testing to confirm that).
It would be super helpful if the meta tag was specific to the page, so it detailed the system/faction/commander/faction name, etc depending on the page's content.
Yep, definitely on the list. I just need to rewrite some things for that, as I do not want to make it as a hack and rather solve the issue with how the page is constructed I have introduced to myself many years ago.

Yes, systems far outside the Bubble/Colonia may not be in the database. It's not a big issue as it's used just for the searchs as a point of reference (which can be adjusted) and I am now seriously thinking to replace that location indicator by something else, to make it less confusing.

Maligno@Artie I've been trying to reset my account link with frontier. I keep getting "Download Failed" message, even after resetting the link in Settings. Can you please help me out with this?

I managed to get auto-updates working, but the download failed for one of the days. I'll leave it like that for now.
It seems to be working for me. If you are getting http 206 errors, please just give it a few minutes and then try again. Frontier's server is slower sometimes and needs time to complete the journal for the output. But it should work otherwise.

the fleet carriers are overflooding the "Galaxy / Commodity / Best Sell" lists. It was great to add a filter, which disables fleet carriers in the list. But apparently this list has a maximum shown entries cap. If you filter away the fleet carriers this is what remains:
Is it possible to reload the list after pressing the filter-button, so that we have the used number of entries there?

Hello, thanks for the report. I have temporarily increased the list limit, so it should show more stations. There is actually a problem with carriers without proper docking access set being counted to the list limit, so the overall list is shorter than it should be. I have it fixed for the next update.

- I have mentioned this earlier, but to be sure - if you are a fleet carrier owner, please link your accounts and use the Import Frontier data feature. The (auto) updates also fetch your fleet carrier data and this way it can be regularly updated, including your market (which may be especially useful for console commanders). I would like to provide further outputs to your fleet carrier based on such imports in the upcoming days, too.
- No fleet carrier is listed in the commodity listings/market, unless is known with the docking access set to "All". Also, no fleet carrier with prices older than 4 hours is displayed in the best sell/buy tabs (reduced from 8 hours, may be further tweaked).
- Improvements and changes in Nearest searches - you can now search the stations and factions for multiple services/states being present at once.
- Adjustments in rankings - after some analysis, there were extreme values limited (diminishing returns), slightly rebalanced some activities (like trading is now giving a little bit more to the score, mining a little bit less an similar tweaks). Those adjustments doesn't shake the top ranks much, but may be more visible at lower ranks, depends on the primary activity of the commanders there. There is still valid a "rule" that if do you want to increase your score (aside of common pilot's ranks) - do everything. Trade, explore, fight, transport passengers, mine, and so on...
- New radio stations, if you haven't noticed already - KGB FOAM and Wings of the Empire.

It used to have researchers, haulers , croppers and there was some kind of column sorting.
This is no more? It was very useful for data gathering, pirating and similar stuff.
Apologies, I forgot to respond before. All the bulk cruisers were removed from the list. At there is now 9000+ of such ships and they are not having significant importance, the list won't be very useful.

Rampant HaggisHey Artie - thanks for the most recent update. I'm trying to figure out if my ranking is calculating correctly? When I compare myself with other commanders with similar Inara Ranks, I seem to have many tiers above them on all fronts...was just curious if I'm missing something?
Your not alone in this regard Rampant Haggis (great name by the way).
When the published update statement declares that doing a little of everything is the best way of ranking up and you see other commanders with no rank for multiple careers but they appear above you in the overall ranking it does make you go mmmmmmmmmm!

Fleet Carrier Info Tab doesn't seem to hold the use of Capital Letters in the FC Name, no matter how many times it is reset in-game or here.
Small thing, probably effect some small OCD nature more than the functionality of the information, lol. Just wondering if eventually it would be possible to Edit the FC Name as it shows in game. Thank you for everything. 07

Yes, if the name is all caps, then it won't hold by purpose (partly because all the names are coming from the game in uppercase, so I need to convert it and partly because I do not want people to use excessively "shouty" names to draw an attention in the listings). But the name formatting like "HMS Bubblegum" should work.
