Inara updates, bug reports, requests
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.
Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

I've just jumped back into the game after a bit of a hiatus and logged into inara to track my progress, Imported Frontier Data but im not seeing any change in my profile since May 2020. I get the following when I import Frontier Data:
OBTAINED FRONTIER ID: 6700426
OBTAINED COMMANDER NAME:
OBTAINED GAME PLATFORM: PS4
GAME JOURNAL IMPORT 2020-12-02: OK
FLEET CARRIER UPDATE: Skipped
This is followed by a "data imported successfully" message, but nothing has been imported or updated, Ships, Credit info, Ranks, Everything is the same as it was in May, although I have defiantly made progress since then.
I've tried disconnecting & reconnecting my account, gave it a few days for things on frontiers end to catch up, nothing.
Any ideas?
Managed to fix this, if anyone else has a similar issue I found a fix over on the frontier forums:

OmegaPaladinI would like to request an additional feature that use existing data. I would like to see a graph of my Inara Rank and possibly the various Elite Ranks. I figure it might look like the Assets tracker.
Hmmm... maybe. Not a priority though, as it has quite a limited use.
IM2DBetancourt Base in Musca Dark Region PJ-P B6-1 has an encoded materials trader.
The current display shows both encoded and raw material trader present at the station.

Thank you for the information. This was meant as that any (raw or encoded) can be there, not both. It was edited to show encoded only (can be adjusted in the station edit).

It seems you did nothing wrong, but also also it seems to be working as intended - the missions counted towards the squadron faction activity are just those which were made for the squadron faction. None of the recent missions completed seems to be made for your faction set.

Yes, as mentioned on the image add page, some images may be archived and then removed over time. It however doesn't affect any generally liked images and images used in the logbooks (although not displayed in the gallery, those are kept).

I am glad it's solved. Yeah, the auto-login on PSN/XBL site under an incorrect account is unfortunately quite a common cause of this kind of problem. I just wish there will be a way how to force users to log on PSN/XBL again during the process.

Would it be possible to list the total points I have toward Imperial or Federation Rank, or what is the maximum rank we are eligible for? For example, if I am at Cadet, and I do a lot of missions for reputation, I will see Cadet (100%) until I finish the rank mission. I could have enough of a backlog to get to Rear Admiral, but in-game there is no way to tell.
This would be very useful for people doing rank grinds.

Last year you improved the auto promote to include activity in addition to time in group as criteria for promotion. I am seeing evidence that the 'activity' is predicated on the OI (on Inara) activity, whereas I was, until recently, under the impression that it was based on IG (in-game) activity. Clearly, from a Sqn management point of view, it is activity in the game that is the important criteria - although I mean no disrespect to your wonderful website.
Can you clarify?
PS Do Xbox player have ability to auto-update their profile?

1. If you sync your Inara profile through Frontier journal import or in real-time via e.g. EDMC, you can find your current cargo under your profile -> Cargo and Crafting -> Cargo
2. I believe that Inara doesn't consider all the discounts in outfitting. Might wanna check other sites for that?

It's hard to do, because the journal contains just the current rank and progress towards the next rank (as seen in the game). So I don't know how much above the next rank player is (there is no overall points value or anything like that).
Syndicate MessengerWhere/how does Inara get its data for engineering material locations? In this case I'm looking at specifically Conductive Chemicals, which only lists "Ship salvage (Transport ships), USS (Degraded emissions/Anarchy)", but I have been getting them as mission reward (in anarchy system - haven't tried other systems).
It's crowdsourced, so there may be some inaccuracies. Thanks for the info about the Conductive chemicals, I will add it there.

Yes, it's based on Inara activity because it's a reliable number (I always know when the user was last online). I understand that having the in-game presence may be also useful, it's however more problematic to get reliably (for example, user may be very active in the game, but may not update his profile on Inara and thus may appear as inactive in the game). That's why I chose to rather rely on the solid value than a value that may or may be not correct.
Yes, Xbox/PS4 players may use the auto-updates of their profiles here.

ad 1] I am not exactly sure if that's reasonably doable (it may be quite performance hungry), but certainly an interesting idea. I will take a look on that.
ad 2] To be honest, I didn't know there are such discounts (it was not a case back then), I will take a look what will be possible to do (as the individual discounts complicate things a bit).
ad 3] Certainly feel free to post any other stuff, ideas and so on when it comes to your mind.

Maybe not much difference for some players, but on T9 that 5% make around half of milion.3. And yet i know what i wish to ask

I'm flying even 100LY to sell a part of my mining cargo or to buy "cheaper parts" so i thinking if there is any simple way to "trade on my road" i mean buy something somhwere and sell in some station "on way", but i thinking that would be really complicated and it would need separate page as additional tool.Ok anyway i need to earn some CR

Hello, it seems to be working at the moment. As I see the last error was just 206, which means another attempt a couple of minutes later usually works (Frontier's server finished its work with assembling the journal chunks meanwhile).
IM2DWhy is there a 2D Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack in outfitting?
I thought there was only 1E, 1F and 4E CRCR's?
There were some plans for it back then, if I recall correctly. I should probably hide it as those cargo racks didn't make it into the game in the end.

The calculation part isn't the problem, the database lookup is the most expensive part and it needs to run on the server (as there is quite a lot of data).
The "sell on the road" is complicated, because I don't know what road in the game it is. The only option is to have something "close to the road" but even that will be probably time ineffective for the player (unless selling a whole cargo at once) and the whole feature is just marginally useful, so not a best candidate for implementation with other than very low priority at the moment.
