Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

RedPredatorI think devs changed a material label in game, so Inara reports is missing for blueprint while in the inventory.

Oh, I hadn't realised Inara doesn't update squadron members from in game applications
However, it still doesn't show anything against the faction name on the starsystem pages like it does with a Player faction. I think is where most people look to see if a system already contains a player (or in this case "related") faction. Is there any chance that can be added back in so it works like the previous "Adopted" flag and the existing "Player" flag?

Observation of inconsistency for an Inara->Coriolis export

I exported a Corvette to Coriolis, and the content of the optional internal compartments were placed incorrectly. I then compared the coriolis display of the optional compartments with the display here, and the order is wrong here.

The order in the ship and on coriolis is:
7, 7, 7, 6, 6, 5, 5, 5-mil, 5-mil, 4, 4, 3, 1

The order here is:
7, 7, 7, 6, 6, 5, 5, 4, 4, 3, 1, 5-mil, 5-mil

I don't have every compartment filled, but it seems the import in Coriolis had tried to put the 4, 4, 3, 1 into the place of the military compartments (which in my case succeeded for one item and as such the items were shifted "up by 1".

Hello, please report that as a bug to Coriolis github, it's a problem in their import. Inara is exporting the modules with the exact slot name (corresponding to the game journal slot names) and the slot order doesn't matter. It seems that Coriolis is assigning the slots by their names as is supposed to, but is having some problems when some slot is missing (is empty) and then it gets wild.

The residents calculation is based on total system population with influence levels factored in afaik, hovering over the field provides a tooltip describing how it works

How else would you define residents? Residence is about jurisdiction, not influence within a system...

The influence-based number should be removed entirely.
We do see the influence numbers and the population already. There is no reason for confusing numbers based on arbitrary calculations.

As explained in the tooltip, it's used in the meaning of "residents, supporting this minor faction" or in other words, supporters or voters (I do not want to use the word "supporters" here, because it can be mistaken for the players). It makes perfect sense, no faction will have zero just because they do not control any star system and must importantly - it's just for bragging.

Unlike with residents, there is nothing in the game that suggests that influence reflects voter support/popularity.
That would mean every single government in the game automatically is the most popular faction. That is unlikely looking at the political systems...
Influence literally just means influence. Dividing population by influence is a completely arbitrary calculation and can not even be used for bragging - again unlike actual residents.

I don't agree (as there is also a population in the stations that can be controlled by individual factions, not necessarily by the star system controlling faction), but that's a matter of opinion. But as I said, the "controlled" population number will be there as well in the next update. I am not planning any further changes than that, as it's generally quite unimportant (so it can be also ignored completely, if you wish to).

Having one value representing the amount of people 'ruled' by a minor faction seems like the most logical option, since it's more intuitive and is a reflection of real in-game stats. Trying to estimate the amount of the population which supports a given minor faction is certainly an interesting idea, but it strikes me as a bit unnecessary. I don't think we can make an accurate approximation here because the influence of a faction shouldn't necessarily correlate to how popular it is, and trying to represent this value regardless of that I think does add a bit of confusion for people looking to find stats showing actual in-game population.

Well, but the controlling faction actually doesn't control the entire population within the star system, because if that was a thing, no wars/civil wars/elections will happen. Those states clearly define that there are various loyalties within the star system for different factions and that's what this number is somehow trying to represent. Is it (to some extent) a made up number? Yes, it is. But assumption that the controlling faction is controlling the entire population is made up, too. The in-game population numbers doesn't connect to the minor factions directly any way, just to the star system itself. Strictly speaking, there should be no population numbers related to the minor factions because of that, but it was quite popular demand to have something there - so there will be both numbers listed and anybody can pick whatever he will prefer or ignore it entirely.

Could we make this a more accurate descriptor at very least? Based on the tool tip calculation, the faction's 'residence' would be better described on inara as 'population supporters.' The underlying problem with classifying them as residence is problematic. The problem here we have is that the political jurisdiction in elite dangerous is by system/station controllers. So I pose the question, How is classifying based on the Influence over population accurate when the political faction controls the system, its stations, and the system's jurisdiction? It's silly for a faction to have a total populous in its system jurisdiction of 50 Billion, but because an arbitrary influence based decision, it only shows 27 billion residents.... Like I mentioned above, if the current implementation is to stay, **PLEASE** change it to population supporters, or something to that effect.
