Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

I've never seen error 28 persist beyond the following gaming session (e.g. a few hours later).

I do the relogging all the time while farming mats. Sometimes I even end an engineering session with a relog to make sure Inara gets up-to-date ship data.

Well, theoretically, it may help to make manual updates during the game session alongside of auto-updates (which basically does nothing else than just "clicks" the button in a predefined interval) as it may distribute the load of stitching the journals on their server (assuming it just adds the new chunks to the already completed partial journal), but depends how it's made internally on their end.

Having a problem with Inara authenticating with the Epic store, it seems to try to head there to request the authentication when I hit the Epic button, but then I get this:

An error occurred or the access was denied. Please try to connect to Frontier/Steam/EGS/XBL/PSN again, grant Inara permission to access your data there, or wait a while if the service is offline.

Too many requests, wait a little bit...

It was stuck on the expired token error yesterday, so I waited and turned off the auto update feature to try and manually update tonight with the above results. I have two other accounts, one with Frontier and one with Steam, both of them updated without issue so it has to be something specifically about Epic.

It looks like a classic problem with the fast expiring link between Epic-Frontier. Please try to hop into the game and import the data after that, I suppose it should work (ignore the "Too many requests" error, it's an internal Inara throttle which was triggered by your many attempts to make it work in a short period of time).

Would it be possible to add to "Nearest" a way to search for Interstellar Factors that do not have a specific faction present in the system?

This is helpful if you want to pay off a fine or a debt at an IF, but this is only possible if said faction is not present in the system.

Yes, there will be an option for that in the next Inara version. I still have a ton of work to do on that in general (it is a quite big site overhaul), so it won't be live earlier than at the end of the month, more probably early July.

Listing factions could be cumbersome. Is it possible to get the list of fines from any of the logs? If so you could do the faction exclusion on the fly which would be super useful.

Personally I just found an IF in a system with factions I never mess with.

Although the query for that is simple, there is needed some work around it to make it work - there is no overall list of fines/bounties in the journal, just the records at the time of the event. So it requires tracking them and hoping that all the updates are in (there are no fines missing or excessive) to make the search to work reliably. It may be interesting addition for sure, I will put that onto ToDo list, but no ETA or promises.

Hmm, tricky. Do the logs list when fines/bounties are removed? Perhaps list them in the Commander reputation page and then people can delete them by hand if they have been cleared.

Certainly adding faction owner would be very helpful to me, I'm not sure I've ever had a need for Economy/Governement/Allegiance when doing a search but maybe others do. How about checkboxes in the "Star system properties" sections so we can tailor our preferred output? People could then eyeball the system owners and manaully identify the factions they want to avoid?

Now that the journal includes FC pricelists for bartender materials, is there a plan to implement a nearest FC search for specific goods/assets/data? That would be a huge help for the foot soldier.

It's there already, I will just expose it more. Further improvements will be post game update 12.

Yes, it just need to make the tracking for fines/bounties there, which is an extra system. But allowing the multiple faction presence or no-presence set may be a useful in general, I will take a look on that direction meanwhile.
