Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hello, not sure if it is the right place to post it, but can anyone help me with Inara generated signature? For some strange reason, no matter which of my ships I select as the main one, signature generation doesn't "fetch" them leaving blank space. I tried changing it several times with different backgrounds but nothing changed. While my friend just now generated signature and all data is there. Checked every setting I could think of but everything seems to be in place.

I am unable to fully properly sync with fdev and import information. Now, that's not to say I have actually seen any discrepancies - in fact, my flight log (which i use while hoping from station to station within a system on the hunt for tier 3 engineered equipment) seems to be updated like, within a few seconds at most. The real problem here is the giant red icon that says there's an issue with my auto-update, but then again i havn't scoured every corner so maybe all modern daily logs are fine but its having an issue syncing old data or something.

It appears to be working now? It was probably some temporal issue with some of the journals on Frontier's server blocking the update, it may happen sometimes (usually due to the frequent in-game relogging).

Hello, thank you for the report. Yes, it's a bug - I have fixed it locally already and it will be deployed tomorrow (then just re-save the signature settings to update the image).

Well, as all the data are crowdsourced, I am not entirely fan of deliberately withdrawing the information that can be also seen on in-game galaxy map. Imagine a situation everybody is disabling their tools sending data over EDDN, etc. - it will quite hamper the usability of 3rd party tools. The BGS testing purposes are a valid reason, though - as I assume those are rather limited and not happening often, for such thing please simply unlink the account temporarily.


I respectfully disagree.

Control over one's data, be it personal, aggregated or, in this case, game related is something I personally highly value.
Those who run EDMC, including me, willingly choose to share this data. I can remove my "consent" to share my game data at anytime without giving a reason by simply not running EDMC. Inara has never been that simple.

The situation you theorized is a biased generalization. We honestly already know a strong user base is willingly and proactively sharing their game data.

Unlinking the account is a solution but doesn't that create some user-validation/accountability problems?
Another, technically correct option is revoking the CAPI token from Frontier.

However, I think simply giving users the choice not to auto-update is better since it can easily be turned on again. Inara still gets EDDN/EDMC feeds anyway so the taps aren't running dry. As you said it, plenty of other users are updating stuff anyway.

Again, this is my opinion, based on my strong beliefs in user's choice over their own data. There's no real issue since they technically still have that choice, just not in a straightforward way that benefits Inara.

I'm not trying to spark a debate, that's pretty much all I got to say on the matter.

Well, if we are speaking about the game data like star system information, station information, etc. those aren't technically commander's personal data, those are data of the game environment that are available in the game to everybody. It's just about forwarding those data further to 3rd party sites. For that reason I do not consider exactly important to have the feature mentioned here, easy to reach and if somebody feel a need to hold the updates for whatever reason, the account unlinking is certainly a way (there are no issues with that).

Thank you! It does appear to be working. How odd! It had persisted through numerous days almost a week now, then suddenly fixes itself when I post. Ah, the fickle mistress that is IT. Either way, I appreciate the support and wish you the best!

Has anyone else had issues with manually (or automatically) updating their stats? I've tried about 10 to 20 times over the last 2 days to update at different times of the day multiple hours apart and keep getting this error:

"There was a problem with Frontier's service while requesting the data. Please wait a couple of hours and then try to repeat your request.
[httpCode: 0, fetchCode: 28]"

Hello, just returned after a brief time away. Love the new look now i’m getting used to it. One question - where do i/can i resync to the ED:H database so that my location, credits, etc is updated? Used to be the blue bar previously…? Many thanks

Greetings, I recognized that the logbooks-page is missing (or I didn't see it?) on the squadron-pages in the new Inara-design.
Did I miss it or is it planned to be implemented? I'm sorry if this question occurred already.

Looks likes an usual problem with Frontier's server refusing to serve journal of game sessions with heavy relogging. If it was a case, I suggest to have at least two minutes between relogs, as it may help. As even today's journal doesn't seem to be available at the moment, I have set your import date to tomorrow and hopefully your future sessions journals will go alright.

Hello, yes, you can import your game data right on your commander main page ("Commander" in the menu).

Yep, I have removed it as it was barely used and the squadron stuff is primarily in the squadron documents. The logbooks are now in the general list as usually. It just seems that I have forgot to remove the option from the logbook edit.

An update notice: Another round of a few fixes and minor improvements on Inara was made. But primarily - the mmorpg.space site is now fully merged into Inara. The accounts you have used there are same as your Inara account, but if you had some extra account that stopped to work, you may need to make a new registration for it (there may be a few of such accounts).

On my cell phone (android) and looking at rankings and for some reason combat rank is in a column and every other rank is listed in the drop down. Is this needed or can combat rank be listed along side of every other rank while on phone.

I have also had issues importing data to my profile (takes a long time and usually fails on one log). Is there something I can do about it?

Looks like sorting by population does not work.
When clicking on the column top, it does sort something, but not the population.

Yeah, the details (other ranks) are available via the "plus" button at the left of the each row the. The table columns are auto-collapsed by the screen width and in this case it's better to hide it than show it below the row in detail.
