Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Love the new medal balance... feels right... thank you... I'm part of two rather large play groups and 2 squadrons... they may not be posting here, but they have all (to a commander) enjoyed the rebalancing.

Coming back after a semi-long pause due to work and I gotta say:
I am not a fan of this 'new' web page ui. A few months ago there was at least an option to keep the old look, but now that's gone. That's a big turn-off for me.
Maybe should've kept at least the option, as not everything that is branded as new is automatically or universally better.
The customizable favorites bar was one of, if not THE reason I used inara back in the day. Now it's just to much back and forth with waaay to much wasted space in between lines, buttons, etc. One click was all I ever needed to get to the sections that I wanted. Further, the condensed and compact look was where it was at for me. I didn't use the site to read other ppls logbooks or whatever, as these are none of my business. Inara served its purpose as a nice and clean database for my stuff in Elite, where I didn't need to fight with the UI ingame to get the info I want. (the ingame ui since fleet carriers is just as annoying)
Now, all this might sound like I'm really late to the party, but I thought giving feedback better late than never.

Anyways, this'll probably be my first and only post on here. Cheers and happy easters holidays!

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, the old version is long gone and as it's not longer technically compatible with all the changes made, it cannot be provided even as an alternative. Although I am also a fan of some kind of compactness, the changes made were necessary to fit with the needs and feedback of a majority of users.

Hello. To my great regret EDDB.io resource has stopped working.
What is he so good? On EDDB.io daily updated database of populated systems and saved as a file systems_populated.json(jsonl).
With a simple script you can quickly select systems with three or more states. What is this for? I think many people know about it. Other than that, you could highlight the state of systems that will happen tomorrow [pending] to visit them immediately after the tick.
Is it possible to do something like that in Inara?
Thank you for listening.

PS) Yes, there is a similar option here:
https://inara.cz/elite/nearest-stations/?formbrief=1&ps1=Wat+Yu&pi13=&pi14=0&pi15=0&pi16=&pi1=0&pi18=0&pi19=0&pi17=1&ps2=&pi25=0&pi8=&pi9=0&pi11=1&pa2%5B%5D=5&pa2%5B%5D=13&pa2%5B%5D=27&pi26=0&pi3=&pi4=0&pi5=0&pi7=0&pi23=1000000&pi6=0&ps3=&pi24=0
But I have to repeat it many times with different set: Boom, Investment, Pirate attack, Public holiday ...
Also, there is no way to search by [pending] parameter.

Hello, that's quite a specific use-case and can complicate the search form quite a lot. It sounds rather like something I can make a custom search for (under "Misc"). What is the exact purpose of it in your opinion (just to naming it properly, the only use that comes to my mind is for the possibly interesting market prices)? Are you looking for any 3+ states? Should the pending state(s) count towards the search results (so for example 2 active states + 1 pending state)?

Yes, that's right!
1. it is useful for finding high prices for some minerals.
2. Yes, when searching in [pending] mode, it is obligatory to have at least 2 more states.
3. The search is only on the main fractions.

Here's an example of how it worked for me:

Now that EDDB.io is dead also please add a Prices Update (last updated) column in the search Stations tab.
Have it go back a few months also. It was invaluable to filter to find stations where people haven't visited
for a long time.

Thx o7

Thanks for the clarification, I will take a look at that. In fact, there was something a little bit more sophisticated a while back, but it was barely used. But having a more generic version of it won't harm.

Please just select the "Commodity market" service in the search and it will display its last update, too.

Hello Artie,

I use trade mainly as another BGS manipulation tool and therefore when I do trade, I look for commodities that have demand at the destination. EDDB was my choice of tool for this because demand was one of the possible parameters to use while looking for trade routes. Now that EDDB is gone I must ask for that parameter in Inara's trade routes search. Maybe by numerical value, maybe just the "3 bar commodities". I suspect both would work equally well.

Thanks.

If you mean to have the indication of the supply/demand brackets displayed, it's there already - there is an icon same as in the game next to the supply/demand (I added some extra color to it, too, so red icon = worst, no icon = middle, green icon = best).

Yes, it displays the supply and demand in brackets when listing the price of commodities in specific stations. It also shows it in trade route search results. All good, but what I'm asking for is an option to filter the trade routes search by commodities that actually have demand at destination.

For example, I'm currently trying to support a faction by hauling cargo with demand to its industrial settlements for profit. If I try to search most profitable trade route, I'll get a bunch of routes for hauling Onionhead Gamma Strain with 0 demand. The search results helpfully tell me that there's 0 demand at the settlement, but even more helpful would be to have results for commodities that do have demand.

Send me a link to your search, please, just to see exactly what you are getting. The results are primarily made for trading profit, as it's the usual point of the trading and as the zero demand plays very minimal role for the profit (and Inara is already displaying the adjusted prices for that), there is not much point to have search options for the demand (mined commodities aside). Actually, adding it there is counterproductive, because people are often unaware of this mechanics and such setting will be limiting their choices/routes for no reason (and then they will be complaining there aren't many good trade routes, a historical experience over here). So seeing what you are getting exactly will help to understand your experience in regard of the BGS stuff (and think about possible adjustments while avoiding that demand option, like offering a filter when the minor faction is set in the search or so).

By the way, for the BGS purposes/influence, is there a difference for zero demand in a high demand bracket and high demand in a high demand bracket at all? Or is it just about the bracket, regardless the actual demand?

Did send you a PM regarding that, but it seems like that little side project of mine is progressing fine, trade with demand or no. Probably thanks to the donations.

I've always worked with assumption that incoming trade needs to have demand in order to affect BGS. In few patches back they did some changes, but in patch notes they talked about the the demand brackets, so I think it's just reinforced that there needs to be demand. I have not vigorously tested this. My friend is doubtful of the effectiveness of trade profits in BGS post that patch, but he's the kind who didn't check the demand with EDDB. I have seen it work, though it doesn't seem as strong as it was before that patch.
