Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hi, would there ever be a feature to upload .csv files to update the market data like in Thrudd's Website? I currently hold the highest rank in Thrudd's website and would like to contribute here too.

Artie[quote=Broc "Badger" McGregor] only two things this Inara is missing:

As I am not trading rares, do you can enlighten me a little bit about this? I thought that various route finders are pointless since enhanced galaxy map route finder in game, but maybe this is more intended like sorted destinations list (without jumps between)? I can also imagine some tool that will find best shortest route between all selected systems (like for example: Eranin - 47 Ceti - Tanmark - Fujin - Eranin)?

wow, talk about making MY day!

honestly had no idea about the ins and outs of Coriolis just that I think the developer and its setup is a thing of pure beauty.  As far as a route planner, they can come in handy for someone like me who likes to plan things ahead instead of on the fly.  It doesn't matter if it's a simple 3 hop basic trade route, or running rares.  And as far as I can tell, having just started the game, mind you, they help immeasurably.

For example, having a route planner that states I need to get fuel at say hop 7, of a 14 hop jump, I can make sure there are places to fill up that are close to their suns... instead of flying 600,000ls out just to get fuel.  If that's the case, it's better to divert to another system that has fuel closer to their stars.

But, I'm a retired navigator in real life.  It's what I've always done.  Mo-boards, fuel charts, set, drift, headings, waypoints, and Bowditch.  So yeah, I know I'm not one of the many.  For running rares, that very scenario of getting fuel at a closer station in a different station is very real if one is min/maxing for profit.  For example, EDShipyard, taking fuel into account, can make a shorter route than say ED-TD.space, or Cmdr.club.

Basically when I want to check out a rare route, I go to eliteraretrader.co.uk to plot out a basic chart.  Then I check out the greatest hop, like say Fujin to Diso.  And I plug that into a saved EDShipyard ship build to see where I need to go to get fuel enroute on that trip.

What these route planners allow is even a simple Sidewinder to run rares and upgrade to a better trader much faster.  It only takes 4T of cargo in rares to purchase a rather nicely kitted out Hauler for example.  Simply by plotting a course from Eranin to Aerial in EDShipyard, swapping out the discovery scanner for more fuel, and getting everything to D and stripping the guns, it'll work like a charm.  It isn't pretty, but it works.  For me it isn't about min/maxing.  I had that route planned but never did have to run it thanks to UnnamedBoxcar hanging out with me all night last night in RES locations.  Got me to 300K easily that way too.  It's more about "running the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs" kind of deal.

And I know what parsecs are too.  :D  That's my point.  Less hops = less time, which can also = more profit if someone really cares. It's just something "fun" for me. I don't know why, but I always have fun finding the "shortcuts." And no, when it comes to anything over 100LY in-game, I really don't like the game's system of doing things. I can't plan ahead for fuel stops, or anything. This way, I just plot out the course 1 by 1 manually.

I just do it because for me that's part of the fun and immersion as well.  I have about 50 or so routes planned out and saved as we speak. Just because I have fun making them.  :D

having that here, would just be icing on the cake, because that's one less stop for me to make before going into the game.  I always come here first to get into the mindset by entering into the logbook/diary.  And on that note, I've experienced one problem.

I was writing a logbook post, and the system basically reset and wanted me to resign in.  Basically causing me to loose that whole journal entry.  Is there a way to keep the "time-out" from happening?  Or, did I find a bug?

not that it's that big of a deal.  I'll just copy and paste it into wordpad before I hit "save" from now on but still, it's kind of a downer.

I also second Talbone's idea of a "bulletin-board" that'd be pretty awesome.  Trading some palladium as "services rendered paid" isn't the greatest way of doing things, but it works.

Talbone
- Add a way to add people and keep them on a list (friends, contacts, whatever name)
- Private messaging
- Bulletin board-like platform for us to 'make' our own missions and take those made by others

Welcome here, Talbone.
About friends list and private messaging - it's definitely in plan and will be there some day. I am just not sure how is meant platform for own missions? It's something like user-created community goals or more roleplaying thing or yet something else (for example something like wild west bounty board)?

It's there already for long time. Simply drag and drop your *.csv file (or click to select) to the yellow block below Note in market, click "Import & Save" and done...

Aha, so we are talking about relatively complex thing (counting ship fuel tank capacity into account, etc.). I will think about it, thank you for suggestion and detailed description!

I am not sure about this one, maybe you found a bug. By default, session expires after four hours of inactivity (when no "remember me" option checked). May it be that case?

well the bulletin board thing is like a real bulletin board, i guess.
a commander posts that they want some shit done and will pay a 'X' amount for that, commanders see it and are able to take it. to prevent fraud (somebody not paying when mission is completed or someone taking payment without doing the thing) a ranking system could be implemented, like so: after every mission both parties rate the other. if someone has too low of a rating, you know they can't be trusted.

this idea could be well used for finding escort, fuel haulers, assassinations and a lot more things.

i got lots of other ideas i was going to implement in my  own website, but yours is so slick and well made that i think collaboration could be better than competition in this case.

Small update before weekend...
  • new feature: Flight logs under CMDR's log (these are private by default, but you can change it in your Settings). Flight logs can be also "attached" to logbook entries.
  • logbooks can be set as "Finished (private)". Also logbook entries are now displayed in full versions on logbooks listing (less clicks needed to read whole logbook)
  • power rating for your preferred Power can be set in your achievements
  • you can change date when ship was bought in your fleet (it also change date of a respective achievement)

Eeeeh, that's something I want rather to avoid

Awesome Flight logs!
If you don't want all flight logs inside your page, maybe summarize them after 4 weeks or so?
e.g.
3301.02 - 29 Dockings, 987 jumps, 380 different visited systems (50 unknown systems), 844 interdictions
3301.01 - 9 Dockings, 97 jumps, 500 different visited systems (40 unknown systems), 844 interdictions

you know what i mean?

btw "interdicted" means both in the logs, as it seems. (being interdicted or interdicted someone else)

As far as I know "Remember Me" is checked.  And I certainly hope I wasn't writing for over four hours!  That'd take away from my flight time!

beyond that, it's all good though.  As for the route planner, EDShipyard like I said already seems to have the best in the "game" so to speak.  Getting able to get their help and onboard here would be absolutely stellar.

This is freaking awesome! Just last night I made my first pilgrimage to LHS 3006. Got pictures to prove it, and boy it was popular. Now, I get to save it in a ship's log too! Thanks!

Also to everyone, thanks for the warm welcome too. And Talbone welcome fellow new guy!

I have 711 netLogs to transfer to the new Flight logs. Is it possible to make it so I can upload multiple copies at a time, rather than only one copy?

Yeah, it will be inevitable, flight log summary after some time will be there. For interdiction there are two states - "interdicted" (being interdicted) and "interdiction" (interdicted someone else). But, I had limited set of netlogs for testing and parsing interdictions is little bit tricky, so there is possible that state "interdiction" may not be correctly recognized sometimes. If do you have such log, please send it to me to elite@inara.cz and I will improve netlog parser accordingly.

Then it is really weird, "remember me" option should keep you logged in all the time. Also, if there is some problem with session handling, it should log you out in other site sections, too. Please keep an eye on it and if it happen again, please tell me your set of actions, how long it was after previous site action and if do you opened Inara on another device/another browser meanwhile.

It's not possible at this moment, but maybe I will add it later when flight logs settle down a little bit. Older netlogs has also some things missing (docking requests, etc.), so it needs to be thoroughly tested, especially in such mass imports. If do you can send me your logs archive to elite@inara.cz, it may be helpful.

Hey, Artie, i got a question:

the signature image functionality generates an image based on my profile, but it places a very big inara.cz icon in the image.
is it possible to change this? if its not, here comes a new suggestion:

-let us upload a picture to our profile, to be used as a commander ID picture, and place it where the logo is now.
