Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hi Artie! I just had a question, sorry if this has been asked before. When you delete a message from the "Command Room" it leaves behind a marker so people can see it was removed. Does that marker go away after awhile? I was having trouble getting people to post in the "Private Discussion" and removed a bunch of threads, but I don't want the markers left behind. Any thoughts?

Fear: Hello, these posts will be removed permanently after some time. It's not there yet, but the cleaning mechanism will become effective after the next update (so roughly in two weeks). Your thread will be less messy then.

Gentlemen, as I am currently refining one of the upcoming features with CMDR's role settings, I would like to get some ideas. Currently, there are following roles predefined: Trader, Explorer, Miner, Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Pirate, Salvager. I am not sure how to name purely combat oriented role (Mercenary?) and multi-purpose role (Any? Jack of all trades?). Also, I was thinking about role "CQC Fighter", but that name seems a little bit awkward. Any thoughts and additional role suggestions welcomed.

How about " PMC " Private Military Contractor Artie ?

Mercenary/Assassin are both good. I happen to be a part of that profession and that is how I would designate my position.

Agreed!

Mercenary, Assassin, Soldier and Enforcer are my picks

DanDak: Sounds good, but it's little bit long

So Mercenary, Assassin, etc. should rather be different roles, as any of them describes a little bit different behavior?

CQC = Competitor?

CQC = Gladiator :-)

Mercenary was afterall a game edition released right before the game went full release in December. It gave you a free Eagle (Freagle) which was instrumental in many commanders, including myself, being able to jump in combat right away, be effective at it and start earning some credits. I think 'Mercenary' is quite fitting.

Assassin, to me anyways, means more of a picky killer. One who only does high profile targets for an extreme amount of profit. These assassination jobs don't come as often as say the jobs do for a Mercenary but the increased profit potential makes up for it. That's how it is in my strange mind  ;)

How "WetWorks" or "Specialist" for the merc/assassin role?
23 Sep 2015, 3:53pm
Gladiator for CQC sounds good

I am not sure about WetWorks/Specialist, the role name should also be clear enough to commanders by it's name. So proposal above may fit the role differences:
Mercenary = "warrior" for hire
Assassin = killer for hire (just high value targets, assassination missions, as Phreedom noted)
Enforcer = police-like role
Soldier = navy related stuff? Not sure about this one. Maybe it can be Specialist instead, but there is still not clear in which area of expertise

May be get ranking about navy? From soldier to military commander/admiral etc? And ranking about all other roles.. Hm, but may be not. That might stay too intricately.

..else, I got question, guys. I got logbook updated, and noted it doesnt appear in common logs in news page though it public and finished. Issue? Or I somth missed here?

Evgeny: Navy/military ranks may be confusing with current navy ranks in game, it will be better to not browse into this area too much. There are just displayed logbooks with certain minimal amount of text on the news page. Few sentences of text are rather personal note/log than something that may be interesting for others, so it filters such records that way.

Thank you, guys, for comments and suggestion on roles. I made role list based on it and if there will be some other ideas, it can be always added later. You can start to think about your role(s), as it will be also displayed on revamped PFL in your profiles after upcoming update.
