Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Ram Tah's ammo capacity blueprint for Chaff is missing a requirement, you also need to bring a magnetic emitter coil.

Apologies if this has been answered before -- is there an ETA on Journal API support? I love Inara but I hate inputting everything by hand.

Isaiah EvansonIndeed. But Elite is also a game where you can see lasers and hear sounds in space... so there's quite a few liberties taken. Rightfully so, of course, sometimes it's better to fudge things a bit for the sake of keeping things entertaining.

The audio is synthetic, generated by the speakers found around the cockpit (pretty blatantly visible in the DBX but available in every single ship) as an alternate form of input from sensors. So explosion and weapons noises are created by the ship to orient the pilot relative to where these events are occurring. It's a really brilliant design by the Pilots Federation as it caters to the natural senses and spacial awareness shared by all of the space-faring species.

I personally DO NOT like that planets make noise though. I would much prefer if the sensors showed me a visual cue for the various planetary types without having to get within detailed sensor range. But, species other than mine have greater auditory acuity than mine does, and I suspect they were closely involved in the design and development of that functionality.

Laser visibility is accounted for by your Pilots Federation implants. Standard safety feature enabling you to keep flying longer by avoiding the path of energy weapons.

Again, I'm not fully bought in to this decision. If you're going to augment me enough to let me see lasers, why not give me additional overlays for other information as well? I suspect there was some political agreements forged with the Powers to keep Pilots Federation members from being too super-human.

You know there is a much simpler explanation: video game.

Wait, what? You're telling me this is just a game? No, it can't be! I don't believe it. It can't all just be one big lie. What have I accomplished then? Am I even real? I don't even know anymore!

Hey commanders.
Dumb question: Thanks to a very shitty game mechanic I do now have a bounty on my head in a System that's part of my route.
There are these certain contacts that allow you to pay fines and bounties from any station for 25% extra money. Sadly I have no idea how they are called and where i can find these.
Anybody here know what i can google for?

Thanks!

I believe they're in low-sec systems. Not sure if they're at every low-sec starport, but if you look around them you should be able to find one.

They will be in the Contacts tab.

I don't know what rhyme or reason there is to where they are located. Is it as simple as Low Security systems, or is there more to it that that?

How bad is the bounty? Can you route around the system until it converts to a fine? If not, maybe try the Suicidewinder option - buy a Sidewinder in another system, go to the station where you have the bounty, sneak in to dock and launch again (is this step required?) and get scanned by security. They will then kill you, thus clearing your bounty and fine.

To what shitty game mechanic do you refer? The one where there's a consequence for attacking innocents or authority?

And yes, a low-security anarchy system is almost sure to have a bounty broker that lets you pay off or cash in bounties regardless of where they are from. It'll be under the "contacts" tab.

Alright thanks. Looking through LowSec systems now.

You mean to tell me doing illegal things results in bounties!?

FDev pls fix

When i fuck up i dont blame the game for it.

A pirate was following me for some distance trying to interdict me, but couldn't catch up. He did when i left supercruise, approaching my target station.
He popped out of SC right in front of my ship.
Let's just say my Python noticed the Eagle AFTER the explosion...

EDIT:
Sadly the Interstellar Factors Contact didnt list the bounty on my head as its neither a fine nor a legacy fine.
So i guess i will have to suicidewinder as Mr. Hussar called it.
