Commanders having Elite from Epic games store with http 400 error
When you try to link your accounts, you may receive the http error 400 about expired tokens. It's an issue on Frontier's end that I cannot solve on Inara. Fortunately, the solution is simple - please give it a few days and it will start to work later (probably when the access token on their cAPI server expires). If the error 400 appeared later and it worked before, try to reauthenticate as said in the error message (may be just a regular reauth forced by Frontier). Alternatively, you can try to use the workaround below. If even that won't work, it's the problem described above.
Please vote for the issue on the official bug tracker: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/21258

Possible workaround: Try to connect the account while you are in the game. It may work.

Game data and imports not available for console commanders and PC players with Legacy game version
Inara supports only the Live game version (so PC Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey) since game update 14, thus all the game data on the site and the commander data imports work only for those game versions.

Hello and thanks for the suggestions! The first problem was fixed, the other two suggestions are on my list.

Awesome! Thanks!

According to Inara there are only 7 settlements in the system HIP 84816, but according to the game there are 44.

Inara data is player farmed, using tools such as ED:MC. It just sits in your toolbar and farms the data from the logs the game generates and then sends that data to Inara and other player made sites.

It sounds like you found a system that hasn't been visited since Odyssey was released, which is when settlements were added to the game.

Your option is to either wait for another player to enter that system who is running ED:MC, or be that player. Landing at a settlement would also provide the details of the settlement such as market data to Inara.

update: I have honked the system and that was all good. You just need to land at each of the settlements to add them to Inara. I've landed at Richardson Nutrition Holding and it now shows on Inara. You have lots more to land on, visit them all and see what exciting NPCs you'll find who will give you unique missions...
...sorry, wrong game. What was I thinking, nothing like that exists in ED.

It almost does… except for the “exciting” and “unique” parts.

Hi Artie.

I am a bit flabbergasted that settlements with the name "O'Neill" don't link to the wiki page of Jack O'Neill. Like this one:

https://inara.cz/elite/station/594720/

Though I am sure this is just some Goa'Uld System Lord plot (I blame Ba'al personally), and not Artie's failure.

Hey,

Not sure if its been mentioned before but is it possible to have these

moved to here please?

Would be a huge QoL improvement!

Hello, I am not sure if it's named after that character or some other (as I am looking onto it, it seems it may be named after Gerard O'Neill). As there are still some names missing, I will add him there in the next Galpedia update pass.

Thanks for the suggestion! The buttons there are context sensitive to some extent (depending on the tab you are switched to) and I didn't want to place all the buttons from all the tabs there as there will be quite a lot of them. But I will think about that.

Hello! First off, I'm fairly new to using Inara and its become an indispensable tool for me, especially for trade routes so thanks for making such a great site! I used to play on console years ago but have recently come back to the game on PC. Having to start over has been a challenge but this site has helped make that easier.

I apologize for the n00bish question (and I did try searching the site, I just did not find anything definitive to answer it) - I wanted to help contribute using something like ED:MC to send things like market data etc to Inara. I found the ED:MC page and downloaded the client but was wondering if there was any guide or steps on how to configure it to work properly with Inara? Do I need to configure it to work with the API? Are there special options I should select in ED:MC like outputting market data in CSV format etc? Thanks for any help o7

Greetings Cmdr Zaarin'dar 07
You will need to go into the settings for edmc, select sites, and use the API key from each of the sites you wish to link. Inara and EDSM are the two I configure as a priority.
You will also need to have edmc open and running on your taskbar whilst you play. Each time you visit a populated system it uploads the latest local data to your linked sites, which benefits everyone.

As Silver wrote. I just want to clarify that the market, etc. data are being sent to 3rd party (via EDDN network) without any API keys, etc., it's the default functionality. Just start the EDMC before the game start and no further configuration should be needed. But, if you want to have some of your commander data updated on Inara realtime (for convenience), you need Inara's API key as mentioned (you will find it under your commander settings).

By the way, if it's not too late, you can transfer your console commander to PC via Frontier's transfer portal, so you do not need to start anew.

Thank you both for your answers, much appreciated! I will make sure EDMC is setup correctly with API keys etc and will run it before launching ED.

I am kicking myself for not double checking that there was a character transfer option before I got started! I've already invested a significant amount of time in my latest pilot so maybe I'll look at creating an alt account and transferring my console data there. I noticed a lot of threads about it on reddit etc so I will do some more research before making a decision. Thank you for opening my eyes to this though @Artie!

Maybe someone edited the station manually on Inara to checked "Interstellar Factor". You can do that too, and fix it.

I would highly recommend doing it. FDev give you a free PC copy of the game when migrating so it's really a no-brainer to do it. You even keep the console account I beleive. Having more than one account allows you to fly off into the black for some long range exploring and still having a pilot in the bubble to do stuff there.

Inara isn't showing IF at that station any more, so it has been updated.

Presence of Interstellar Factors can depend on the system's security level. When the police show up in force the IF closes down. I'm sure there are more variables involves such as the station owner government etc but if it's a law abiding station and security goes to medium there is a good chance the IF will disappear for a while.
