Jemine CaesarPip management is very important in combat. You can often find that you're changing pips constantly, depending on the situation.

This!

Your pips should never be in a fixed position in combat - when in pursuit or maneuvering, full ENG; when under fire, full SYS; when attacking, full WEP.

Flying shieldless with a hull-tank has obvious drawbacks, but it also has advantages, one of which is easier pip-management - I find that I can leave it at 0-4-2 most of the time.

On the inverse of this, turrets may put out less damage than their counterparts (and their aim is sometimes questionable) but if used properly they allow me to focus more on my systems and weapons, since I don't have to outmaneuver my target.

That depends on the ship you're in and the opponent you're fighting. My big problem with turrets and gimballs is that they can be jammed and are coupled to your sensors. They also have a higher energy draw than fixed afaik.

Depends on the turret, beam turrets are actually more efficient than their fixed counterparts. They can get jammed, yeah, but I'm not sure about the sensor thing. There was talk of frontier making Gimbel/turret accuracy tie into your sensor rating, meaning A rated sensors would be useful, but I think they decided not to do so.

I agreed for assault ships, support ships are different a Especially for "Army swiss knife" ship type.

Hey! Glad you found the site, it's a pretty useful tool and full of pretty cool people (if I don't say so myself)

The most common player here is PC based players, however Xbox makes up a pretty big chunk, and PS4 players are trickling in every day! How you find your time here enjoyable

Greetings Commanders o7

My Name is Renraiku. I have been perusing and utilising Inara for the last couple of months and am enjoying it all thoroughly.

First and foremost - Artie, I take my hat off to you, this is an awesome piece of work.

Second - To all the others that assist Artie, however major or minor great work too.

Third - The RP Community here is great, I have so many favourite writers, I couldn't possibly name them all, I know I have only scratched the surface of the quantity and quality of content in here and am looking forward to reading more.

Lastly - A little about me, I would like to be more social in game and here on Inara however, I am, for want of a better word, shy. I am hoping to become part of the community here and learn more about Elite in it's various play styles and also develop my writing style (currently non-existent).

Hope this finds you all well and I hope to see you all in the Void.

Ren

Welcome Renraiku

Nothing wrong with lurking instead of writing but the more quality writers the better.
It is as good a place as any to develop your own writing style, there are plenty of helpful players out there if you need advice.

Enjoy.

Hello Ren, and welcome.

I'm glad you're enjoying the stories. There are plenty of them to catch up on! And don't be shy about having a go at the RP yourself, but if you need any advice then please ask. We're all happy to help. There's also an informative guide to RP which you might find useful to check out. There's a link to it in all the rooms.

Take care

Hello, I've owned ED:H since Thursday (PS4) and am already loving it.

I've created a wing (ZeroFuchs) which is the same name we use in every game - apart from TESO which wont allow it cos profanity... we're the ZF coalition over there, anyway i digress..

This looks really useful and I'm keen to get the gang on board (when and if they get round to purchasing) but new friends are always good too

One question - can you link this to ED:H account to flesh out stats? I'm on a work PC and they're a bit... dated.

Cheers all see you in space!

Unfortunately not, as your CMDR data are not accessible with any third party programs, tools or sites. Downside of ED on console

However, welcome to this shithole greatest place in the internetz!
