Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Nice to meet you! If you're thinking of exploring not gonna trade for a while, I suggest outfitting your Type-6 as your vessel of choice, they make damn good exploration ships for those of us with a smaller budget

Good luck out there!

Giyari, I was thinking the same thing.. the type-6 will do in a pinch, especially with a fuel scoop.

Hi there brand new here
Currently trying to deliver my first cargo run out to Serebrov Station, not going all that well, I have a question please, when I engage my super cruise, why doesn't it drop out when I get very close to my intended destination, or does it and I'm just not giving it the chance to do it, as I panic and jump out of super cruise manually

Well that ended badly was destroyed for landing pad infringement lol, can anyone suggest a mission to ease me into this I'm a seasoned gamer for longer than I'm going to divulge :-) but am feeling very much overwhelmed at the moment as to where to start, as well as trying to get used to the controls etc

Welcome Stan, Welcome Rhino.
And Rhino, that's because you have to tell it to exit SC. 100% pilot input required. This is a space sim kinda game.

Besides once you get use to it, it becomes second nature.

Set your throttle to 75% as you approach the destination, at about 10 seconds out in the HUD (you can set up a key bind or Voice Attack command for that - it's about half way into the blue zone on the throttle display). It's the maximum speed that you can approach and still drop. Use the display on the left to get your distance relative to the blue drop zone and wait for the drop announcement before exiting super cruise.

Training missions. They take you through the whole process and they're pretty good starters.

Oh, and hello.

Hello Rhino, and welcome.

Make sure you have your destination selected. In supercruise, watch the readout at the target reticule, and adjust speed to keep it at 7 seconds. Your ship will slow down automatically, and will tell you when it's time to drop down.

There's lots to learn!

Alternative method: blast past the destination at maximum speed then pull a loop to slow you down. Gravity wells can be used to fine tune your deceleration. Makes it a little harder on anyone pursuing you plus you can get a nice alignment to the docking port (notice that when your station is targeted in super cruise it shows your alignment to it - when you drop out of SC, that's how you'll arrive relative to the station).

Welcome to the game. There's lots to learn.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I can already see that this is not going to be easy to get in to, are there any suggestions as to what to do initially that wont get me killed or lost very quickly, I think I have the very basics landing is still somewhat of a mystery to me, I have heard mention of an "auto pilot" landing/docking but have no idea how to engage this.
