I am Commander Albert Cole (CMDR Cole). Just started ED over the weekend, and already hooked deep. Started a fresh game with a new GamerTag I made just for ED last night, cleared about 30 data delivery and salvage missions around my starting system, and sold my Sidewinder for a Hauler.

So far, I spend my evenings playing, and my days at the office cruising the forums and YT videos. Any advice for a total n00b is totally appreciated.

Yes, get yourself a cobra III, fit it with with a few weapons a manifest scanner and an interdiction device with cargo space and some hatch-breakers. Go to High population Agricultural systems in the BOOM state.  Look for cargo ships, pull them over and scan them. If they have Low Temp Diamonds. Hijack them.

Tigon OlogdringThe dolphin is a lot of fun, although you can act "properly" in it too if you like. Just make sure you've got A-rated drives if you take on a Mitterand Hollow fare.

A bit about me: I'm in my mid thirties, and get around 5-10 hours to play mostly very early AM before work (i like Res hunting for an hour haha, good new morning routine) and nights and weekends. I'd say time in the chair is likely below 10 hours a week so going to be casual, such is life.

I've currently worked my way up to a Viper, and am bounty hunting in He Bo, but I have no allegiances yet and like the empire lore. I just went to He Bo because I saw it on a reddit thread for having a lot of rings

Long term, I'd like to explore but right now staying in bubble and learning how to fly. I've been keeping it on solo mode to build up bank roll on NPC's and such for now, but that mostly due to knowing absolutely no one.

The dolphin is a fun little ship, and quite the good smuggler if you ever decided to go that route. Can be very lucrative sneaking contraband into stations, and right beneath your passengers feet.
