Posting here is a perfect first step. There's a growing PS4 contingent, though being XBOX and PC I don't know much about them. Do you have Discord? That's a good way to find people as well (and a lot of us Inara old timers hang out there ).

CMDR Jennifyr Kirovna here, I'm new to Inara and new to the universe of Elite: Dangerous, bit overwhelmed by its scope but learning is part of the fun. I will be looking to engage in some roleplay at some point, but still working on my character for now (I always want to make sure I completely understand the lore first).

Hello Jennifr, and welcome.

There's lots of lore to understand. It's best to establish some basics for your character, then build slowly. Things will fall into place bit by bit.
