Try Mainani to Ngalinn, where you can do data missions for the Imperial rank grind. Both stations are M-pad so take a smaller ship, not your 'Conda.

joey0176Hi all, hope your all well, quite new to ED been playing a couple of months now. Mostly on solo until recently have managed to get an anaconda and a few hundred mil, as well as Admiral rank in federation. I did this on the Ceos to solthis data and cargo runs. Looking to rank up in empire now so is there a similar sort of short range run for ranking up in empire? My knowledge of the game is limited and im learning the basics as I go from game play and forums such as this. Im also looking to engineer my conda but a bit clueless on this side of things. Any help appreciated.

I think being interdicted and brought down by a sidewinder would be an introduction into the merits of knowing your ships
But rejoice Grasshopper, you're embarking in a long journey of new and exciting learning
So welcome!!

Hey Joey, I just started playing several weeks ago. My Intro is a bit before yours on page 190. I found a Wing, G.O.M. and they have been helping me with all kinds of things, from including me in Wing Missions to make some Credit to Engineering to Exploring (I'm on my way to Colonia now). Check them out if you are interested. G.O.M. We don't currently have anything in Wing Promotions, but that forum is great for finding a wing too.
As for Engineering, I started with Felicity Farseer because I needed to engineer my FSD for the explorer trip to Colonia. What do you want to work on first? If it's guns, check out Tod "The Blaster" McQuinn or THE DWELLER. You need materials for the introduction with Farseer, Bounty Vouchers for McQuinn & Black Market visits for Dweller. If you are a Bounty Hunter, you know what's most important to you, so find that engineer, get the mats and go see them. Just make sure they have How to Discover as "Common Knowledge". Meeting some engineers opens up other engineers, and on and on it goes.
To the Elite, if I have messed up any Engineering requirements, please feel free to correct the errors.
See you in the Black!
