SuperFrogXIs prize one time deal, our if you unlock it, you can get it anytime again?

You can only buy it after the 4 weeks. So if you are going to do the "jump out" strat, then buy as many of them as you think you will need before you "jump out."

To clarify. You can only purchase the Power Play Module specific to the Power when you are currently Pledged for at least 4 weeks (served concurrently) and Rank 3 or higher.

SO how to I get Rank 3?

Clear on that you can only get them as long as you are still pledged and rank 3. Is it hard to keep Rank 3?

What module are best to get first?

SuperFrogXSO how to I get Rank 3?

Depends on the Power - some require you to ferry specific cargo around its operations area, some require you to take on combat operations to undermine the rivals. This will earn you credits for rank. If you read up on your chosen Power it will inform you what you need to do.

SuperFrogX Is it hard to keep Rank 3?

At the end of each weekly cycle you retain 50% of your PP credits, so it becomes a little easier to maintain or increase rank

SuperFrogX What module are best to get first?

That will vary by every Cmdr preference - once again it’s best to shop around, see what is on offer. Some have specialist weapons that may suit your combat style. Fr’instance Aisling Duval, The Disney Princess, will supply Prismatic Shields. You could do worse than to have a selection of those in your stored modules.

Are modules. like shields preset size, or do they adjust to size of your current ship?

Sorry for so many questions... this is something I will probably have to start doing and had no idea how to set it up.

Should there be n00b corner so that we don't spam Introduction / general discussion threads??

This conversation should probably get moved into general / game talk.

Also, join the discord. Many folks there willing to help.

CyberblitzHi, not new to the game but new to INARA. Don't know why its taking me so long to find INARA but here i am at last.

I've been playing ED for over a year, on and off, on the PS4. At the time I didn't realise ED wasn't an across platform MMO, which is hugely disappointing becasue it seems the majority of players are playing on PC. In all the time I've been playing ED, I've encountered 2 real-life players (and one of those was from the FuleRats (they saved my arse, awesome bunch of players)).

In hindsight i would probably have chosen the PC route. I'm really happy with my status in-game: got the ship i want (Anaconda - love this ship) and the modules mostly, increased my ranks sufficiently and accumulated enough credits. I know you can transfer your account but it seems you can only transfer your credits and assets not status and modules (i really don't have the time to start all over again).

Exploration and Mining is my game, not interested in combat at all (mostly becasue i'm terrible at it).

Love to seek other players on PS if anyone else is on the same platform.

Currently exploring NGC 7822, at Sector BQ-Y d12..

See you out there!!

PS4 is my platform of choice (due to me being 'a bit of a spanner' , I did also purchase it on PC and XBox) Whilst you don't get the same number of players as you do on PC, we are still out there. Though I spend most of my time away from the Bubble so the chances of bumping into other Cmdrs is quite slim.

Still a great game, and knowing that my actions contribute to the BGS is also good to know. Hell, one day Sony may even warm to the idea of cross-platform play....one day

I’ve been playing elite dangerous for a few years. I used to play the original game on the Amiga in the 80’s. I’m playing on an Xbox and I’ve just discovered this site. I’ve linked my frontier account but none of my details have been imported, just showing here as a new commander in Sol. Don’t know what I’ve done wrong, anybody else ever has this issue?

Good morning all.

Thought I would introduce myself. New to Inara but been in game for a while now. Just started to get more active in other areas. I usually play in a Private group I have set up. Have a handful of us that wing up for a bit of PVE. Long time RPer and story teller so started a logbook here. Great reading all the posts from the community, look forward to reading more. Just call me Sen. Cheers.

Good Evening All,

I have been playing for a little while now and am just getting my footing. I just wanted to say hello to all you out there and maybe at some point I will hop into open play (been focused on Private sessions mostly). Quick question for those that do play in Open sessions, what, if any, are there differences? (Other than possible PvP, which I have to admit I am not big on). Anyway, look forward to exploring!

Welcome CMDR.

And good plan starting off in solo. Other then the PvP there is no diff. I often play in a private group as it is very annoying running into some guy running cheat progs that just want to ruin your day. If you need some pointers where to start off and work your way up to, feel free to ask. Always happy to help in real time. Other then that, again, welcome and fly dangerous! O7
