Synthya WylderI did my best & changed my profile pic to make it less like yours, Nerys. Lambast Mercy kindly gave me some tips to take screenshots from my game cam; perhaps I should change it again...

As to "Romulan", I do have a subtle sense of humor. I'll hold off on the 'naughty' part until I get to know people here better.

I also enjoy playing a WWII U-boat warfare sim game, Silent Hunter III. Rather like the way Romulans operate in space... subtle, sneaky, preferring to operate hidden, then striking unseen without warning.

I like your humor please dont change it. And about your avatar i have to take a new pair of glasses. I like your tastes for submarine too. Maybe u liked Hunt For Red October?

The movie, Hunt for Red October? Loved it, although there's quite a span of time & technology between the 2. There's something noble about fighting for a lost cause, regardless whether the character(s) or the audience know about it. In what I've read, including books written by (the rare) WWII U-boat commanders who survived the war, they fought out of a sense of patriotic duty. Rather a bit Klingon there, without all of the blustery "honor & a good death" thing.

Yep the movie with the gigantic Sean Connery as Marko Ramius. I think that can be nobilty also in an enemy. The whole anciet greek epic is based on this theme. And also something in the ancient japanese samurai's culture

Hey everyone,

It's your boy Commander Foulbear, here for the first time, with streams of

INCOMPETENT SPACEFLIGHT!!!!!!!

Is there such a thing as "competent spaceflight" in elite? People full force ramming 6g planet landing pads, mauling traffic in the mailslot with 400mps, joining the empire??

Welcome Commander! o7

Yes, yes there is.

Practise will make you better, spend time in the tutorial repeating landing and takeoff if you feel you cannot afford the rebuy when you make a drastic blunder.

Do the combat tutorials, learn what your pips do and eventually learn good PIP Management.

Set your controls right, ask questions, remember the game ships with roll into yaw, this is not optimal for most pilots.

Join with friends and/or a squadron, learn how to build a ship for it's purpose.

For your own sake and everyone else's, Utilise the engineers.

Steer clear of Hot PvP zones if you are in Open and are not prepared or are low on funds.

This list is seriously not even close to exhaustive.

Ask questions, lots of questions. The only dumb question is one not asked that could negatively affects you later.

Oh and Fly Dangerously (by that I mean, learn to fly well and then learn to wield your ship as a dangerous weapon).

While I do agree with what you said 100%, Nathan was clearly making a joke here, as was Foulbear.

I mean, all I did ingame up until now was what I listed, playing meteorite, flying irresponsibly, and join the empire every day (don't pay attention to my -100% reputation with them, inara is just confused about my 200%). Didn't know elite has this many activities up until today!

Btw hello INARA, I suppose this is an adequate introduction from my part, since I haven't done that before.

I help where I can, if they didn't get anything out of it, maybe some one else will.

They speak the truth. Though I'm not above slamming into the wall next to a space port exit, or yeeting myself into an asteroid because I haven't gotten breaking down on my asp yet, I've been shocked at how much progress I've made. Never played games like this before, then after playing for a few hours with mouse and keyboard I ran out and got a HOTAS and I've been loving it.

I bought a pair, a combo, by ThrustMaster: Throttle, & Joystick. Cost me more than the game itself. Seems to be of superior quality.

I think, I'll be continuing my studies of the E:D game itself, before I try to work on yet another learning curve.

Voice Control also seems useful; I suspect, in combination.

Greetings & Hello to any I've not yet met!

Hey there! Cmdr Liz here. Don't mind me, I'm just hauling goods from one end of the galaxy to the other.

Have at it Cmdr Liz, welcome to INARA.
