Bachi6240Hello everyone,

My name is Bachi and just wanted to greet everyone this morning. I have been on the site for awhile now and got back into ED shortly after and thought it was time to finally introduce myself. Currently play on the Xbox 1 and would love to join people with some free time. ED helps me with my PTSD from the afghan war so I hope I can really enjoy the community I left and have some fun. Have a great day everyone!

Quite a few vets it seems here. USMC vet myself. I'll space with ya anytime on XB1.

Do Royal Air Force vets count? You can trust a Limey!

Haha! Absolutely! Had some good times at the RAF pub in Incirlik, Turkey. A-Okay my book.

Akrotiri in Cyprus was a nice place. Finish work at 1300 and down to the beach!

Lol. No matter what country, the Air Force is always the one slacking and skating. What's new. =p

I was merely a conscript (not a veteran) with the Luftwaffe (Jagdgeschwader 72 "Westfalen" (72nd Fighter Wing "Westphalia"), has been dissolved during restructuring), serving as a member of the Luftwaffensicherungsstaffel (LwSichStff) "Hopsten". Not sure how to translate that, we were basically responsible to maintain security by keeping unwanted visitors off the airfield and making sure that everyone followed the rules (like "no hats on the airfield, a turbine could suck it in!") and to "welcome" bogeys/bandits that had been forced to land at our airfield by our pilots... who were Phantom Phlyers btw (F4-F Phantom II).

Hello Fellow Aviator!

Not really sure if you really can call me an 'aviator'. Like I said, I was merely a conscript (for 9 months) and part of the infantry inside the 72nd.

It all counts.

Thanks to all of you for your service!

Interesting that quite a number of ex-military folks are playing Elite. I'm a 21 year retired ex-crew chief that worked on KC-135's, F-4D's, F-16's, and B-1b's. I was forced to retire in 2004 (Neck and back started to fail me). I've been out for a while now but I still miss the camaraderie, sense of duty, and the overall job satisfaction that comes from one's service.

Google Translate gives me "Air Force Security Squadron"
