Introductions

Silent SkiesBeen poking around the site so I figured I'd pop in here and say hi...

Hello commander, and welcome.

Take care out there.

Greetings, Commanders! I'm Jen, a CMDR freshly graduated from the Pilots Federation Academy. So far, I've managed to keep my first ship, The Pilgrim (a standard Sidewinder MK I model), in one piece - although mostly because of luck, of course.

Don't get me wrong, getting your Pilots Federation License is quite hard and essential to have a chance of survival out there. However, space as you learn it in the class room and during training is completely different than the real deal - I learned this the hard way over the past week! It is SO dangerous, but exciting at the same time, right? My heart pumps fast everytime I push down the throttle and the FSD initiates the countdown: 4, 3, 2, 1... makes me feel so alive!

I've set my first objective now that I'm officialy a "Commander": completing a pilgrimage back to Earth, the place I was born. I'm still a few jumps away from the Sol System, but with my upgraded FSD I should be able to get there sooner rather than later - of course, that's just getting there... still have to get my hands on a Federal Permit to enter. But, let's take one step at a time.

Fly safe, Commanders! 07

Welcome aboard CMDR Jen.

Yes, definitely welcome, CMDR Jennifer Shepard! While I haven't gone through all of them yet, I am a fan of your logbook entries when I stumbled across them adding in my own a few days ago. I subscribed to you as an author. Just wanted to say great work and thanks for sharing.

Jennifer ShepardGreetings, Commanders! I'm Jen...

Hello commander, and welcome. It's always good to greet a sister pilot. I will make sure to have a look at your logs, too.

I do wish you well on your journey to Earth, though I hope your experience of it isn't as traumatic as any of my visits have been!

Take care

Thank you guys! I really appreciate the warm welcome!

I'm really glad you find the logs interesting. Besides keeping a record of my flights, I hope it can also help any new Commanders in learning the lessons I had to learn the hard way (like running out of fuel in an inhabited system).

I will certainly take care out there, specially considering that my inexperience is the highest threat to my safety right now.

Some of us really like logbooks. *points at wing*

And some of us really like fuel (and logbooks)

Oh Rebecca, I see you are a member of the Fuel Rats. I'll be forever in your debt! Your guys saved my life a couple days ago. Thank you all! A hunderd times thank you!

Since I got my wings, running out of fuel it's been the most terrifying experience, even more than getting interdicted by an outlaw.

No need to thank me I'm not really an active rat anymore

If you should ever run out again, you know where to come
