LOT ! of commanders are asking if their systems are going to cope with the ODYS DLC i heard that if your systems runs Horizons it will run ODYSY is that right

I believe this is Frontier’s intent. They admit there is a lot of optimisation to be done between Alpha and the final release. I guess it’s down to keeping your graphics drivers up to date and your fingers crossed

One ray of hope there is that I have played the Alpha, briefly, on my seriously low-end laptop. It required a lowering of graphics settings, and was a bit glitchy at times, but then so is Horizons on that crappy machine

Hope for us all then , i play on a fairly low end system with a NVIDIA 1050 and i get over 60 FPS most of the time , so im crossing my fingers for ODYSY !!!

One thing is certain: FDev can't leave things the way they are now because even people with high-end cards are reporting performance issues.

I expect that I may not be able to run the game at ultra settings any more, but if medium or high settings in Odyssey look as good as ultra does now, I'm OK with that.

Long story short: Odyssey should bring a graphics upgrade, not a downgrade, otherwise there will be a lot of unhappy people in FDev's forum.

i ran elite at ultra with a gtx 1650 (not odyssey just normal) but i moved down to high because my laptop was getting really warm. and i dont see a difference between high and ultra. medium is weird tho cus a lot of shadows just disappear.

i pre-ordered it but i didn't spend another £10 from the alpha and i cant wait because i want to walk around and i also want to do genetic scans. however what everyone is saying just makes waiting worse because i want to see if its great or an absolute mess.

From what I've got from the streams, the alpha release was 5 weeks (or so) old build and some stuff that is beneficial to performance (like occlusion culling) was deliberately disabled there as well. So I say let's judge the final release and make no any hastily conclusions just from the alpha.

From May 19th on we'll be alpha-testing the release branch, and everyone will be able to participate!
