RawnuAnd I agree that it is fascinating to see how other people interpret the game and its lore.

As I said, the latest Thargoid mess in Sol & core systems created a convoluted and multi-layered response from playerbase, beautiful in its complexity. It was awesome to see how different people, through their characters, interpret the same events.

With some nudging from Frontier that we should consider things from a different standpoint than the "human" one, which is sufficiently vague to allow all kinds of interpretations at whatever the actual/alternate purpose of the Titan's presence might have been, while still providing the hint that, maybe, it wasn't just some last-ditch attempt at causing havoc on something which humans value, mostly symbolically in the 34th century I guess.

I'm sure the Imperials mostly feature it in lessons to demonstrate how superior to the Federation they are... with only a little bit of the history of human origin sprinkled in.

(Those hints only reinforced my existing belief the Titan incursion wasn't just "Bash humans on the head for being complete idiots so they learn their place", nor an attempt at extermination - would've been quite a poor one if so - but most others still seem to be perfectly happy to just go shoot angry space flowers.)

Whenever they come back around now... and I'm sure that moron "Damnation" will be all too happy to offer up his magic doohickeys again when it happens. Just as sure that there will be too many to pick up the shinies provided, because someone who names his contingency plan to allow his consciousness survive his body, 'Nemesis', is certainly rational, trustworthy, and won't make things any worse than they are. Just ignore the Proteus Wave still burning brightly in the background, would you ...

Meanwhile, PowerPissingplay is going all sorts of nuts over Sol, as if the Thargoid incursion was just some minor incident, and I'm certain Frontier are watching that with as much popcorn as I feel they precisely intended for it to happen in this way. Even if some got upset they had their progress for Archer's little surveillance empire plans wiped off the map because a Titan wanted to go sightseeing in humanity's home.

RawnuQuestion for the role players among us: what got you into RP in ED? How did your perception of the game change because of your RP? Also, feel free to give some tips to the non-RP folk who might think about getting into it but don't dare to do it.

I've tried it and written a few 'adventures' here, with the help and input from others who chose to join in. I guess I'm a frustrated writer looking for ideas. I loved it!

It added a story line for my online game play, interacting with others online, fighting exploring, chatting etc

)not sure how many people actually read any of it)

Just give it a go, eveyone here can be helpful

MeowersAh, yeah, that funny tinfoil hattery about us being characters in a videogame which supposedly exists in the early 21st. Quite a popular one.

Has a Matrix cult been created? Just like the Star Trek cult in Futurama?

Trust me when I say that a carrier is a major headache and only really useful if youre someone who is neck deep into this game
Which I am, which is why i bought one,
Also on a side note, if you are new just keep trucking along , saving money until they have a big event , usually 2 times a year we get a major event thats just loaded with money for folks to earn.
I made the 5 billion for my own carrier on one even hauling gold for some statues
No joke, the whole 5 bil

100% agreed.

In fact, if it was possible to buy a FC without having to work for it, players would learn nothing from it, just like grinding materials for engineering, they made it simpler but I don't think they learn as much as we had before when we really had to work for it, plus there are far too many carriers in the game right now.

I could buy a Pre-Built ship to an enthusiast and deserving player but a Carrier, even with the funds, hell no, they need to earn it.

I made the money for mine doing Carrier missions.
