There is one. Didn't know FCs get counted like that.
I'm wondering if it's safe to dismiss the ship and do some surface prospecting with the SRV. I see reports of ships auto-landing upside down or even getting blown up on launch.

Yes, FCs in orbit shows as human signal on dss.
My AspX made this weird flip once but it recovered and landed actually. You can use that FC as insurance but then you either sell exploration data cheap or risk loosing it.

I'd rather not dock at any FCs around here. I don't need repairs, and I don't want to risk having my respawn point in a system that I can leave only with FSD injections.

A wise decision. My experience has been, if you don't know the FC owner very well & developed a high level of trust, don't trust them, at least, not to moor your ship for any length of time like overnight.

Yes, DSSA. They were included in EDSM, but at some point removed. I have no idea why - probably their location was not reliable. I am sure you can find them if you search enough.

The problem is much worse than that. Even if you just drop out of supercruise next to a fleet carrier, that carrier will become your respawn point in subsequent rebuy screens. So if my ship happens to get destroyed on the way back to civilization, I'll have a choice to respawn in a Sidewinder in the Bubble (and lose my current ship forever) or on that carrier in my current ship, but possibly without enough materials to synthesize the FSD injections I need to leave the system again.
